Default bet / raise representing the ace with a draw

hi

just noticed this thread ;-)

interesting one - and as always its very situational but heads up play is all about jedi mind games I think personally

you can get people to make totally mathmatically wrong decisions if you lead them to

anyway

I would personally depending on the size of the pot - either bet out min bet or raise making the bet around half the pot

with that flop this would be like sitting next to a sign saying

"I have the ace and I want you to call"

what you'd effectively be doing is representing the ace while holding what its generally a weak bottom end straight draw (but in heads up this is not bad)

so I say bet with a good semi bluff

if the board was showing two suited (not in your favour) then I would bet out 1 1/2 times the pot to just take the hand down

obviously if your up against a cunning bugger they may see through this depending on your previous heads up play

bear in mind its really really easy to figure out if your up against someone who is not a good heads up player IMHO

hope thats a help

cheers scrawnybob
