I would say that if you get to play 1 hand in 6 you are doing well, from my experience I would think that I play between a 1 in 6 to 1 in 8 percentage.
I do say though that I will throw in a mixer. If I haven't played a hand in 10 hands, yes that can happen, I throw in a mixer. A mixer is what I call see the next 3 flops at the BB level just to see what I hit. This keeps me awake and if I just happen to flop lucky proves profitable.
The other thing this does is give the other players a mis-read of my play. They suddenly see me calling a few hands after folding a long run of hands and think I have a much stronger hand than I have. This allows me to pull off the odd bluff from time to time.
I'm not sure if this is good play but it has worked for me in the past and it stops me from getting bored, after all we play this game for the 'Rush' too.
