A couple people have the right idea here...AK is a DRAWING hand. A good hand, sure. Better than most, yes. However it is still a drawing hand. If I am playing and I am dealt AK and I am facing a raise from a player I feel to be stronger than I am and possibly capable of outplaying me than I may consider a push for all my chips. Here is my reasoning, first I have to be able to be semi sure I am not facing AA....KK as well but obviously more worried about AA. Now if this is the case here is why I like the push. Simply because you have now guarnteed yourself to see all 5 cards. With AK being a drawing hand that is very important. You have now eliminated a strong players ability to push you off of that hand with his A10 on a q83 board or something of the like. Now obviously I am not shoving AK everytime, but at times it is a good idea. I am a firm believer that AK is the most overplayed hand in hold em especially for the beggining player. My $0.02.
