Default Omaha - 2 hands 2 full houses

hi all

just played literally two hands of omaha over at RedKings Poker

nothing to crazy just 0.25/.50 limit cash game - so put in $12 and after 2 hands came out with around $18

interestingly on the first hand I ended up making a full house 7's over 3's and won a nice tidy pot (dealt 33--)

and in the second hand I made another full house this time 7's and 3's on the flop - but ended up getting bettered by the river - I'm not that sharp at Omaha but I started to see warning signs that maybe I wasnt in such good shape the second time around

I didnt loose too much on the second hand thankfully but it does illustrate what a couple of old poker school players told me ... with omaha you've got to have and expect to see alot better hands than you will in holdem

worth bearing in mind - exactly the same hand has a totally different value with different boards for others to use and make something better

similar to considering the value difference between making trips and having a set
ie. pocket pair + 1 is alot stronger than a pair on the board + 1 in your hands in holdem

enjoying the change though

cheers scrawnybob
