Gypsy Tea's post regarding Inflection Points etc, reminded me of this thread that I posted when I first joined 4Kingpoker.
I'm not a huge reader, and it seems our fellow players don't do much either.
I enjoyed the above titles greatly, lots of practical help, and it has cerrtianly benefited my game.
I've explored some further reading on NL Hold'em including some more general aspects of gambling and how and why we do/play the way we do.
My latest reading includes:
The Theory of Poker by David Sklansky. Paperback (ISBN: 1-880685-00-0):
This one is like chewing mud. Thick, gluppy and not very tasty though provides good general advice, so long as you can sift through it.
The Pyschology of Poker by Alan N.Schoonmaker, Ph.D (ISBN: 1-880685-25-6):
This i like, very much orientated to how and why we play, views of your opponent and the best types of strategy against particular types of opponent. Not really for the beginner but certainly worth a read if only to help in evaluating your own play.
Surely we have a few book worms here?
Anybody have any titles to add?
