after the event which is better ????
hi all
ok - well I'm glad that at least everyone is trying to discuss this in a sensible manner ;-)
and bear in mind that Nanda and I have been having constructive PM discussions
so here was the bottom line of my point ... and this is general not specific to Nanda as I hope everyone will make her feel welcome and let the issue fade away because
Question to forum ...
Accepting the fact that a hypothetical poker player who isnt a member of our forum gets the password from a site or sent to them by a member and then plays in our game (not knowing anything about us or our rules ... ie. we are just another freeroll password to them)
then plays in our freeroll (and maybe wins or comes in the money)
would you rather ...
a) They disapear into the ether like the other say 40,50 or 100 other non members who played one of our games when they shouldnt
b) They realise they should be a member (maybe during the game) so quickly join
c) They realise they should be a member (maybe during the game) so quickly join and then also realise they need to be active ... but also probably realise they might get grief ... but think ... hell I should try to do the right thing (even if its a bit late) and see if they accept that I'm not like the other 40,50 or 100 others who would just take the prize money and run
I'm guessing that given only the 3 options above ... everyone would agree that for the forum option c) is the best
Nanda has faced the music, joined, posted and is trying to set the record straight ... I would much much rather have her as a member than she not join
so my tip of the iceberg reference was that while Nanda is an easy target (you can see the top of the iceberg) it's not really fair to vent on 1 person for the "sins" of 40 or 50 who we can't see or talk to
hence I want Nanda to be accepted into the forum and a clean sheet given
hope that makes sense
cheers scrawnybob
ps. the real problem and the people with NO excuses are OUR few low life members who habitually give out / post or share our passwords - now they have ZERO excuse and I will continue to show them no mercy ... We really must be realistic about WHO is the real problem ... if members never gave passwords out then we simply would not have this problem
