Well 'm certainly learning a lot about my game. With the warm weather comes more work {I'm self employed so I gotta make $ while weather cooperates} Plus school is out for summer and my niece is spending 3-4 nights a week with me. My bro works nights and I'm pretty tight with my niece. She plays with the neighborhood kids but will invariably want me for something while I'm in the middle of a tourney. I'm definitely not putting her off for poker, so my game is really changing. Either i start late, or I know I won't have time to finish, so I'm getting much more aggressive. Sometimes this is good, sometimes not. I've only cashed in a few freerolls lately. On one, I had almost blinded out by the time I got to the table, I only played 4-5 hands, but doubled or tripled up on most of those. Then I sat out for rest of tourney. When I checked later, I had cashed lol. Maybe I should play that way more often. My other cash was a long grind. A few doubles, but mostly small pots
What i'm finding is that what seems to work best for me is to let the game dictate how I play. If I decide beforehand that I'll play tight or aggressive, on the tourneys where I know I'll have time to play, it doesn't work. It makes me nuts to watch hands go by when I decided to play tight and had the best hand. It also makes no sense to be aggressive just to be aggressive. I steal some pots, but eventually someone simply has the best hand and won't go away. So I'm trying to let the flow of the game dictate my play for me and also trying to not be predictable.
Another thing I've learned is that I'm not good at playing more than 1 tourney at a time. I'm better when I pay attention to the other players, although sometimes I shift tables so much, that doesn't matter either. I'll be playing 2 tonight at the same time so we'll see how it goes.
**Niece is grounded so I can play from start to finish
