Default Virgin Poker Festival

I played in the Virgin Poker Festival yesterday after qualifying from the 4kingpoker game. This was my first ever live game and to say I was nervous was a bit of an understatement. I got to Dusk Till Dawn early as they were offering lessons in live game etiquette for first timers, this was given by a poker pro and was a great start for me to avoid making a complete fool of myself

I was lucky to meet sinner01 who is also a member here at the learning table and we had a little chat it was great to meet another member, he was far more organised than me he came with a plan I was just there trying not to look to stupid

The game is all a bit of a blur really, the fist table I was on was sooo tight it squeaked with 1 player folding K K pre-flop and another folding A A with J 5 3 on the flop. I wasn't getting any cards and when I did bet all I picked up were the blinds. After a while I was moved to another table and i was lucky enough to get a run of decent cards and built my stack up to about twice the average. I then was moved fairly reguarly and couldn't get going again and my stack went down to about average, until I was moved to the chip leaders table and he just picked me out for the complete novice I am and took most of my chips. Then after 1 more table move I decided to go all in with the little I had left with 4 4 I was up against A 8 and the flop came down with an 8 and that was me gone.

I was happy I finished 55th out of 259 which for a first try was far more than I expected. I have to say it has open my eyes on how hands come out live. I think there were at least 6 or 7 times AA was against KK all in and KK won I thought this only happened on the net

Thanks Bob for the game that allowed me to go to this it was a great experience, i think I need a bit more practice before I make my WSOP debut, maybe about 10 years
