I don't necessarily agree on a new player playing strictly freerolls, there are entirely too many people that are willing to and do go "All-In on anything" in these. They can be very valuable in hand evaluation and learning the pot odds, but my suggestion would be find a live casino with a decent poker room and start looking at getting into like a $1/3 NL Hold'em game. Play tight and learn. You don't get better until you realize that there can be a real penalty for losing. It shouldn't be enough to kill you financially, but it is enough to make you pay attention and learn to read players and figure out different betting practices and styles. It will also help you learn proper etiquette at the table. Hope this helps. Oh yeah the only other thing I can think of is HAVE FUN. Good luck and hope you do well.
