The key is to be in control of the hand. If you raise, you take control. If you get reraised, you lose control.
If you raise and get called, don't play scared. Just because the overcard comes, doesn't mean your opponent has it. (If there is only one. Multiple opponents and an A hits, you might as well go into hibernation.).
If you raised preflop against one caller, you must fire a continuation bet, even if the A hits. They don't know you don't have AK. They could have 89 suited. You have to remain in control.
