Amazing. 4 Straight Homers
Last night the Dodgers trailed the Padres 5-9 going into the bottom of the ninth before hitting improbable back to back to back to back homeruns and force extra innings.
No other team has hit four home runs in a row since 1964, and none has done so in such dramatic fashion as the two teams are in a heated pennant race competition.
"That was the greatest game I've ever seen. I've never seen anything like that," Dodgers reliever Brett Tomko said.
"It was a great baseball game -- two good teams going at it. They got the last big hit," said Brian Giles, who scored in the top of the 10th to give the Padres a short-lived 10-9 lead.
The Dodgers trailed by one run going into the 10th but Nomar Garciaparra's two-run walk off homer closed out the Dodgers win.
The Dodgers now lead the NL West by ½ a game over the San Diego Padres.
