A good portion of those stories claiming Paypal ripped them off are moronic. I sold an item and I mailed it before the payment cleared, then I got screwed by Paypal....I bought some shit and never got it, so I filed a claim...the seller told me to drop the claim and they will mail the shit so I did. They never mailed it and Paypal screwed me by not reopening the claim. I bought 100 CDs and after a month of not getting responses from the seller, I paid them anyway and they ripped me off, and it is Paypal's fault.
The only legitimate screwing happens if the buyer of your item pays paypal with fraudulent money...you as the seller are blamed...which is weird as the point of paypal is that only Paypal gets the buyers credit card info. This means if you sell some shit and the buyer uses a stolen card, Paypal will charge the money back when the credit card company files a chargeback to Paypal. You will not get paid and you lose the item that you send. Cause the buyer obviously isn't mailing it back, they used a stolen card to pay for it in the first place.
