hi all

here are February's forum posting winners -

competition will be running in March so get posting, at a total of 1495 posts, Feb 2009 posts are over 2000 posts LOWER than Feb 2008 ;-(

so please get active in the forum - if the forum goes quiet then I'm less inclined to put more of my cash & time into the tournaments if members arent going to be very active.

(as most of you are already signed up at the rooms we play at - forum posting is the best way to be an active part in the success of the site & therefore get more tournaments)

BTW if activity picks up I will be putting up freeroll league (at a wider range of sites) for next season, these will be separate from the buy-in league & with higher posting requirement - probably 40+ posts.

no worries derringer - yep if winners can PM their FT screen names (even if I know them already - it helps my admin and makes it quicker for me to get transfers to you)

yep - hopefully the forum will pick up again - thanks to everyones efforts to post regularly - as Ive said before good posts attract more good posts - more activity attracts more activity so the more that get into the forum ... the more everyone will get out of the forum

on the freerolls league front - its not probably the best thread to discuss it in but I DO plan to bring them back, probably with a 40+ post requirement OR automatic entry for signups to the host site via our links.

I know its easy to loose sight of costs / free stuff but members who dont or havent signed up at rooms via 4kingpoker links, really need to get their heads round the fact that 80% of the forum tournaments are a straight cost to me personally with next to zero upside ... (appart from trying to give everyone a good game or two)

so the freeroll league will likely be at a different site every week - so try out some new sites

this way some the rooms may pay for some games ... and we might get some new signups via the forum (instead of 90%+ from review visitors) which helps fund the other games in the leagues etc.

I'll be trying to get more content, more news, more articles etc up on the site as much as possible - there are some links (look for green box halfway down right hand side of forum) to some of the other niche sites I have been working on which members might find interesting too ... even if I'm not on the forum as much as I'd like I am doing stuff for the community & visitors ;-)

I love the added content idea/implementation. I look forward to a very integrated site which has been very helpful to me. I apologize for not being very active as my schedule has REALLY picked up lately. I wish everyone well and I thank ScrawnyBob oh so much.

scrawneybob, u r so right about postings,i really enjoy our games here, the only thing ifind a problem is that noone knows about forums till after they r signed at poker rooms. i,m already at severalpoker sites,so icant sign thru 4king or qualify for rakeback. i guess word of mouth is r advertising and i will try more to get new players

Well I'm not sure if I should be posting this in the open forum, or whether a PM to ScrawnyBob would have been more appropriate, so please feel free to delete this post if it is considered inappropriate, but here is an honest assessment from my point of view.

When I was a pure and simple FRW (early 2008) and wanted to be in as many freerolls as possible, I signed up with a whole bunch of forums. One forum seemed to me to be a lot better, one of the main attractions for me was that a lot of ladies seemed to post there, and for me banter between men and women is far more entertaining than the macho "I've got a bigger whatsaname than anyone else" sort of rubbish that seems to happen when a group of men get together. They also had some phenomenally skilled poker players that were giving detailed hand analysis, as well as interesting articles to read about poker theory, and they had even made a free training video with commentary by an English person! Some forums were too big, and some their software didn't work properly with Firefox. Some were too small and simply didn't have enough freerolls, or enough new posts to keep it interesting.

Anyway, around the time that 4King decided to make a rule about 10 posts per month for freeroll access, I decided that I would just stick with the one poker forum, the one with all the girls posting regularly . Then they introduced some stupid fascist rule about not having sigs, or them having to be really tiny, and I had another look at other forums. I have come back here now for another look, and can't really find any freeroll passwords since 26th February, apart from team/league games, although it appears that the ten posts per month rule has been removed. Overall this does seem to be a pleasant and friendly forum, and ScrawnyBob seems to be a straight-talking and sensible guy, which I like. One of my pet hates is over-zealous mods who love throwing their weight around, but in all honesty I haven't encountered that at ANY of the poker forums I have visited (apart from the fascist sig rule).

Because I work any 5 days out of 7 and work 2pm-10pm I can't make a commitment to be in a team, so all that really interests me is freerolls (or buy-ins) where it's me against the rest of the world!

One thing that ScrawnyBob does which I like and which I haven't encountered elsewhere is his free gifts for good posts, or a lot of posts. Although I am pretty useless at poker, I am fairly good at writing posts! AFAIK he is also English, and I like forums that are genuinely international, instead of ones where they assume that the whole world is American.

Anyway my apologies for such a long post, but it may provide some insight into what one person feels is good (or bad) about 4KingPoker.

yep just to reiterate freerolls will be back in the next season

I needed a break from having to organise far too many games especially the freerolls
so this season hasnt got freerolls but next season will have

we will have a posting requirement on them of 40+ posts - this will be a one off thing rather than a x day rule thing - as members really didnt seem to get the point of that at all and crappy posts got too prevalent ... however with a 40+ post requirement for freerolls I WILL be very strict with the posting bat ... anyone who just flings up duff posts to try and get passwords will just get deleted and banned ... I simply cannot afford the hastle and grief of bad posting for freeroll passwords - so I wont.

in terms of more content - I will be getting more content up for those of you who have read everything I'll try to keep you occupied

interestingly alot of feedback has come back from members who didnt realise we already have over 40+ poker strategy articles on the main part of the site, over 40+ poker site reviews & regularly added online poker news etc

so I urge members to explore beyond the forum - have a look at the neavigation bar at the top of the site for all the sections & sub-sections

also I will try to make the strategy articles etc easier to find by posting threads in the forum with a link to each article for discussing specific strategy articles and commenting on them so we can get more discussions going and people can agree / disagree with advice and offer some more of their own

I'm glad to see that i'm in top posters. If i can do it, most of us should be able to post more. Indeed, i'm french and well reknown as bad english talker and writer.
