Default Next Season of Tournaments & Leagues

    hi all

I am at the moment putting the final arrangements together for the next season of 4kingpoker tournaments & leagues -

Running from Tuesday 9th April to Sunday 28th June (ie. 12 weeks)

Check here for coming weeks 4kingpoker tournaments

Check here for 4kingpoker tournament results / leaderboard & dates

Also the upcoming weeks tournaments are put up on the green panel at the top right of all pages and the dates will be added into the forum event calendar

There will be a few changes but hopefully on the whole more tournaments and games for everyone (10+ decent post rule applies for passwords)

Most importantly we wont be having overall league prizes added for this season - but obviously all the games have money added - overall winners of leagues will have their winning titles added to their profile / showing at the top of their posts - so you get bragging rights ;-)

Also please note in order to get four 12 week seasons into 2009 - the next season will run in the week immediately after this season finished

Here is a rough overview of the leagues, tournaments & formats

We will be adding new host sites to some of the leagues - so PLEASE SIGNUP to NEW rooms via our links found in our reviews - Full List of our bonuses & reviews

here are the links to the sites we will be featuring in the tournaments and leagues ...

FullTilt Poker, Carbon Poker, Bodog, Cake Poker, DoylesRoom & PokerStars (open to US)

PKR Poker, Titan Poker, PokerHeaven & Littlewoods Poker (non US)

Tuesdays - NEW 6 week mini leagues at specific sites

First 6 weeks will be a PKR (non US) mini league with $1 buy-ins with $50 added

Second 6 weeks will be at DoylesRoom (US open) mini league with $1 buy-ins with $25 added

Second 6 weeks will be another mini-league at Littlewoods Poker (non US) $1 buy-ins $50 added

Thursdays - US Open VI League + Euro League VI (was called non US)

US Open will run at 4 US Open sites over 12 weeks - 7pm EST
sites will be FullTilt, Bodog, Cake Poker & Carbon POker

Euro (non US) will run at 3 Non US sites + FullTilt over 12 weeks - 2pm EST / 7pm GMT
sites will be Full Tilt, PKR, Titan & PokerHeaven (TBC)

    Sundays - NEW Freeroll Series

We will run ONE game at each of 9 sites that are also featured in our other leagues
the games will be at 2pm EST on Sundays - mix of US and non US sites

FullTilt Poker, Carbon Poker, Bodog, Cake Poker, DoylesRoom (open to US)

PKR Poker, Titan Poker, PokerHeaven + Littlewoods Poker (non US)

    These games will run Sundays weeks 1,2,3 - 5,6,7 - 9,10,11

Sundays - NEW Monthly PokerStars HORSE $5 buy-in $100 added

We will be running a monthly HORSE game at Pokerstars in the 4th, 8th & 12th week of the season - this will be a $5 buy-in with $100 added at 2pm EST (ie. in the freeroll series slot)

Sundays - Carbon TPT IV (team play trophy league)

We will be running the team only league at Carbon poker again at the same time of 5pm EST - we are changing the prize format so the winning team of 10 will each get some coupons or something (the final game is too much hastle to fix and get running)

NB. the Fulltilt games have been moved from team only into the US Open & Euro League (6 games in each league - half and half)

Hope this is ok for everyone

at a rough count this means the total added money for next seasons 12 weeks is ...

$3300 over 3 months or over $1000 in monthly prize money ;-)

thats in addition to the monthly $100 in forum posting prizes (this will continue to run also)

    cheers scrawnybob

    Some points to comment.

    - The leagues dont have [overall] prizes any more, for 1 side i think is bad, because that way don't push me to play every game of the season to try to win the final prize, but still have money added in the games so that make it very atractive to play.

    - Tuesdays games are back, thats great.

    - Fulltilt is no more in the team games, but still in the weekdays so is fine.

    - Its great to have Cake Poker back, is my number 1 site now.

    - Nice to have Doyles, i dont play much there because is in the same network with Cake, but i do have a little BR to play the games.

    - I Never try before Poker Heaven, dont know much about this site, but already read the review in here. I dont know, im not really familiar with Euros, im going to download the software and try the site a couple of days and lets see if like it to make a deposit.

    - The freerolls are back, i dont now if this is good or bad, but i know they are needed to bring players to the forum, so i think are ok. Not sure yet if going to play in those

    - Team games are now only in Carbon, i think is fine, and the ticket to the winner team is also good. My question about this is ..if the final game (postleague) is not set any more, so, the 2nd and 3rd places dont get nothing now?.

I ask because in the next season it looks we going to have the most teams ever.

    - Nice to see that Bodog and PKR are still there.

I think is all, the season looks pretty good.

I'm going to miss playing the FTP TOC At least the TPT @ Carbon is still a go.
The Pstars horse tourney sounds like a lot of fun.

Default question of budgets I'm afraid

    hi

yep I'm afraid its a simple case of budgets - the forum & forum tournaments are pretty much a total cost and negative ROI

(with the exception of maybe members actually trying and playing at new sites we feature)

for example running a monthly pokerstars game at cost to me of $100 per month is
most likely to actually leave me total out of pocket on stars - you all play there already and ranking in top 10 on google for pokerstars is virtually impossible

cake games are back dispite the cost will be far exceeding any rev that I earn after rakeback etc

    etc etc

I try to run as wider games as I can at all the sites you all already seem to play at
but there is a limit to how much I will chuck into the forum as it's very -ROI

I cant be sure there will be enough from Fulltilt to cover additional overall league winner prizes in my account -

hence I cant justify paying out another $60 extra on each league ($180-$240) on Fulltilt when again most members have already signed there etc

90%+ of revenue and therefore funds for running tournaments DONT come from forum members - it comes from the far greater number of visitors - who dont join the forum but sign up to rooms via our bonuses & reviews etc

I'm not really sure the freerolls will attract new members specifically (or rather new good posting members) - I've principly set them up to keep existing members happy ...

and most importantly in the hope members actually start posting in the forum things that are worth reading and discussing ;-)

    cheers scrawnybob

Holy Shit, you are kidding me Mate!

    To all forum members :

Come on guys some of thease or we should run ( what ever you like best) should be buy-in's

Bob can not keep this up in the current climate !

Sorry but IMHO Bob should not have to pay this, no wonder he wonders if it's worth IT ( ie the forum)

I know he would not say anything and I dont care if Rob Bans me BUT a grand a month is pushing the budet a little far, Lets as forum members and cyber friends try and help a little. It's fair we all try and do 1 buy-in a month in a site say "a dollar US". even if we dont play the game.

Say some sort of special game???

Default its cool - just more posting would be good

    hi all

thanks GT for the support and everyone else

one the funding side it really isnt a biggy - I'll put as much back into the forum tournaments as I can - it's just that the bulk of the rev comes in from sites that are maybe not so popular with forum members and balancing between different sites is a bit of a juggle

really it comes down to two things that would be greatly appreciated ...

    1) IF your not signed at a site - then its great if people sign up via our links ...
also check our list of 50+ sites before just going direct to sign up. As we have now pretty much got all of the good sites available for signing up via 4kingpoker

(BTW if anyone doesnt see a site they want to signup or think others would like to then PM me)

    2) More activity in the forums, more posts, more discussion & more competition amongst our active members to get the most posts and win prizes in our $100 monthly forum posting prizes.

The biz side of things shouldnt be something the forum need to worry about - but supporting the games so they run and posting more ensures that the forum is active and a growing useful source of info and help for all the members.

I'd like to do more games etc - and where I can I will - so the more involved members get (even if theyre signed up at sites already) the better ... for the forum

    cheers scrawnybob

ps. we havent got rid of the fulltilt games completely - they are still 6 games but just split 3 into US Open and 3 into the Euro / Non US league - to encourage more participation in those leagues
