Just a thought:
In order to draw more players into the tounaments sponsored by 4K, perhaps instead of giving away the prize money at Full Tilt, the prizes could be awarded at Cake, Bodog or the other sites that host our games.
Just my two cents.

what bonus you talking about???....i know of no bonuses that bob pays out of his own pocket...and even if he did...there is no way to do it on bodog because there is no player to player transfers on it![]()
hi
I think it was the forum posting prize money (rather than the signup bonuses which you get signing up to rooms via our links etc) that the OP was meaning
btw the $100 monthly posting DOES come out of my own pocket (FT player account)
and at least 50% of the tournament costs I DO have to pay - some sites pay all of the costs and some sites make me pay 100% of the costs myself, several agree 50/50 with me
in terms of bonuses - well if a player is getting rakeback via me then I am paying for it
also sites DO chargeback % of cost of players back to affiliates (ie. me) for things like player bonuses / juice / withdrawl and deposit costs etc etc etc
the main reason I pay out the forum posting prize via Fulltilt is because I actually earn a reasonable amount from signups to Fulltilt so I know there will be money to pay the forum posting prizes each month from my Fulltilt account
I couldnt do that via Cake as I dont even earn enough (especially offering Rakeback there to be covering the additional costs of the tournaments (actually not even close) -
we have some members of the forum signed up there via our links but hardly any of them actually play for real money ... so I take a total loss on the games at Cake
as has been highlighted before (unfortunately) 95% of the rev to fund all the tournaments & forum posting prizes & run the site etc comes from (non forum) visitors signing up to sites via our links - the forum members is maybe 5% at best of rev.
Unless players are actually signed up under 4kingpoker links - it really doesnt make much difference to me whether Im giving money away via FT, cake or bodog
in some respects I would like to run more games at FullTilt but again I have to balance all the costs against rev etc

no problem bob. i appreciate everything you do. i was just trying to think of ways to increase the numbers of players in some of the tournaments.
kingjames: you can do player to player transfers at bodog. it just isn't easy.
hi guys
no worries
I've just found the easiest player transfers on fulltilt and also as most members seem to have an account there already the forum posting prize money on FT seemed to be the biggest incentive to get members to post more often
the priority was to make the forum posting a sucess - more posts, more activity in the forum ... hopefully more involvement in tournaments wherever they are
so I guess in that sense I'd put it there to give the biggest incentive to post - rather than a bigger incentive to have funds for playing the tournaments (if that makes sense)
the site choice for tournaments is always a difficult balance between sites that members already play at and sites that we can get new signups at from forum members
eg. I cant justify doing games at PokerStars even if its the biggest as (because its the biggest) forum members already play there and there are so few signups there via 4kingpoker that the tournament costs arent covered on a regular basis
its that odd paradox that my best site in terms of getting new signups covers the costs of running the other sites games etc ... but if I was to only run games there a) its not open to US players b) virtually all of our signups are visitors and not forum members

To rebound on SB post, i would tend to think that if you ever sign-in a semi-pro, like sponsorship or partnership, then you could attract more players for bigger BIs and it would advertise the site and forum. Let's add that you could also run some "lessons" and "videos rental" dedicated place.
No meaning to engage SB money, but was only a react. Plus you would need to find a good one which won't be that ease with the huge field of players outthere.
