MAY - Posting Prize Nominations

hi all

please post you suggestions here for the new monthly nominations / prizes

1) $5 for best / most useful post / reply of the month

2) $5 for best thread started / thread starter

3) $5 for best newcomer / newly active member

basically I will look at the nominations at the end of each month and then pick the 3 winners

Great idea Bob. How will that work? Will people Post their nominations publicly here in a thread. There will be so many that I,m sure it will be quite a job for you to go through them all to pick the winners. Sounds like a big task for you.

yep post them in here for May (then I will open a new similar thread for June and so on)

basically it will be far easier for me to wade through one thread HERE than to try and admin it any other way

at this point I just want to mention that I will NOT be considering any nominations made via PM as I really dont want that to be used for this - a single thread is by far the easiest from my POV ;-)

if you want to just nominate a member

ideally do it by name for their posting / post / or thread starting / best thread started or newly active (or long term member becoming active) then you can just name them and post a link

hope that is ok - we'll see how it goes

That's a great idea. I don't know if i'll be able to read all the threads, but i will certainly give my opinion.

To make it easier to understand to me, i'd like to know what do we have to post in this thread exactly. The link only with the concerned category? Maybe for an easier read, you should allocate a number to each category so that we only have to put a number before the link to the post. Another thing i'd like to understand is when the threads are selected, how will you chose between them. Don't we need a poll to do it?

that's really a great idea. It is not only about the amount of posting but it really should help in the longterm to honour value posts/threads.

As I'm not around so much for the time being (job wise) I most probably will not be able to contribute so much and find the best threads or posts to promote here. Nevertheless I'll do my best for it.

As hojediade, I'd appreciate of you just coud do a sample nomination so we could see which format/way you would like our nomination posts to look like as to make your life easier too.

I nominate jamaica for the best thread starter simply because they got some cheek
I also nominate them for the best newcomer (if they ever come back)

I don't have one that I like in particular but if I have to, THIS is the one I liked best.
