just to let everyone know what that final plans are for the next season of leagues games are now the 4KSOP 2010 is over (congrats to all the bracelet winners BTW)

New Season Starts - Thursday 29th July

there will be 3 (maybe 4) leagues (each scored separately as team AND individual leagues)

Thursdays 8pm BST from 29th July ... PKR League (non US only)

TBC Fridays 6pm EST from 30th July ... Carbon / Aced League (unconfirmed)

Saturdays 5pm EST from 31st July ... Fulltilt League

Sundays 5pm EST from 1st August ... Bodog League

The league season will be over 8 weeks (as previously) and we will have PKR games on Thursdays, Fulltilt games on Saturdays as previously with the Bodog games moving to Sundays

Team Sizes / Changes

basically teams need to be reduced to 4 member max teams ... this also means we really need more captains to step up and setup new teams too

I would strongly suggest for example in the case of teams with 6 active members they split into 2 teams of 3 to maximise the number of ongoing active players OR into 3 teams of 2 active members and then look to recruit one or two additional members

It is most important that we dont just cut those 6 member teams down by 2 and leave those players out in the cold

in the case of less active teams with inactive members then it makes sense to just cut away the totally inactive members (PM them to let them know) as some teams have an easy 6 down to 4 change ... while others could potentially make 2 or even 3 healthy teams from their 6 current members

I really hope that ALL teams and members will get behind the changes as I genuinely think the changes will improve the leagues in alot of ways - reducing collusion problems (percieved or real) + making the leagues more competive

Buy-ins, Prizes & Money Added

The Fulltilt games will be $2 buyins with $25 added as this seems to make the high min tournament fee at fulltilt eat in less

The other games will be $1 buyins with $25 added as the tournament fees are lower

There will be the usual 1st,2nd & 3rd additional prizes added for each league + additioanal prizes for all the members of the top TWO overal teams in each league

also a little disappointed that we have no merge/or even cake site. was hoping to play a little more. even if its not league related-i would like to get a competition/challenge of some sort going there with everyone. i just want to play a little more during the week. i don't care about added money or prizws. it's a bonus, sure, but i don't need it to motivate me to play.

The rearranged Team UK is ready and waiting to defend at FT and PKR

I read it as individual prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd in each league and prizes for team members for teams finishing 1st and second each each league rather than just 1st.

That is great Bob, was kind of sad to leave the forum for 1 month, glad that new season start early.

Tking, that means that now not only 1st place but also 2nd team in the top will win something wich is great, that is because only 4 players by team now, before with 6-10 players surely was harder for Bob to pay 2 teams

i would like a challenge with everyone too, i get back to Carbon so maybe we can choice a day or two in the week and see who get further in a game, Dan is playing there too, maybe others like to join, we could play in the dayly $Dollar or the 60c, don´t have a BR for more.

yep Al has explained it exactly right

1st,2nd & 3rd individual prizes for each league (no change)

In terms of a cake or merge site league ...

none of the cake sites earn anything like enough for me to fund a league on a regular basis

on the merge front this is something I will look at for the next season - I dont want another season like the last couple being unreliable etc

Yes the new season is a bit earlier than I had forecast (basically I'm so far behind on moving the site over to new platform another week or two between seasons isnt going to make any difference)

this will mean by my calculations we can get 2 more seasons in before Christmas and also allows for a bit of a Christmas special something (as yet not decided)

alrighty! sounds like a terrific set up this season. i can't wait til it starts. pity about the cake site BUT how about just playing a buy in forum game or two. a cheap one so everyone can play. it wouldn't matter to me if no $ was added ...

hey logan, that's a grand idea. you know a "custom" game could be set up for ourselves. i think you have to be a depositor though to be able to set it up but anybody can play provided they know the pw. i would be game!
