thanks for the thanks - its much appreciated

its not looked like a very productive year on the site I know

as a combination of growing family and changing hours as a result, with less time to work on the site + biggest factor of trying to move the whole site to a new platform (probably a mistake but its nearly done) ...

what was hoped to be max a 2 month project has plodded along into a 10month+ project to effectively move what is already here

I've not spent as much time posting as I would have liked and I havent spent anything like as much time as I used to creating new content etc

hopefully that will all come together in the new year and we will have a much better functioning site (even if it looks suspiciously similar) able to grow without glitches and I will be able to get more visible improvements for everyone to benefit from ;-)

anyway thanks for all the thanks and it is very appreciated

yep (madness I know) - the other guy Jonathan is bought it for sorting the technical stuff I dont understand at the "other end"

so we dont have any mods, we dont have an "in" crowd or a pecking order

the up side of that is nobody else is stuck doing dull admin deleting spammers etc and members dont have to feel anyone is more important than anyone else ... everyone can complain to me on stuff and I have to take it on the chin as there isnt anyone else to blame if things go wrong or aren't popular

on the flipside it means alot of work - but thats the challenge and if I want to reap rewards of trying to build up a big site then I have to put in the graft. I want to try to save members from getting sucked into doing dull admin so they can post more and enjoy the forum part more ... there is nothing glam about being a mod ;-)

it does IMHO hopefully mean that most of the time the forum is friendlier and less cleaky than other forum ... everyone can direct any frustrations or problems at me ;-)
