Default FRIENDLY forum or NO forum

    hi all

just to make it clear to ALL members I setup the forum as a place for friendly constructive discussion of all things poker

I did NOT set up the forum to become yet another cr*p argumentative, confrontational poker forum where egos, attitudes and whatever thinks they can be rude to mere mortals anytime they feel like it

Nor is it a place where members who have been around along time or more than 5 minutes can swan around being rude and cocky thinking they have earned the priviledge to be snotty with other members as they see fit

I dont give a sh*t if you won the WSOP or make $100k a month or if you havent got the $1 for a buyin ...

you ALL have to be civil

OR you will get banned - its that simple

I am not going to let the 4king forum decend into the same bullsh*t smug clicky bolox that alot of other forums have with people who think they are somehow better than everyone else running the show or taking over the show or thinking they can run amok in the mad house for the hell of it

I have no interest in running a forum if its ends up becoming a nasty, rude and arogant place where new, keen or plesant people are stiffled by nasty and unwarranted posts that dont help anyone

I will be handing out infractions like confetti if needs be and permanent bans also for those that have already had warnings etc

So as an appeal to the nice posters of old - where are you ?

get posting - you and good posts are what makes the forum a plesant friendly environment and you are needed to drown out the negative and dismissive and as before help balance the fluffy non poker chat with constructive and substancive posts.

    cheers scrawnybob

Amen Bob. Well stated. I think a reminder is in order of the forum rules. I haven,t been as active lately til recently and have noticed a few seemingly attack posts. Not personal attacks mind you but more or less attacks on the another person,s judgement or thought process of a hand played for example.Different viewpoints make things interesting but they don,t have to be negative.

Default negative can still be polite

    hi

yep the important thing here is that a negative view or opinion can still be put over politely

and also alot of the problems come from people thinking they can talk to everyone rudely because they can be overfamiliar or rude to other members they know well etc ...

the probem comes when they fail to recognise when being rude or blunt isnt acceptable with new members or members who are not part of their close friends and even then I have had to deal with far too many spats between members who fall out etc etc

it gets very tiresome and also is very demoralising for me and nice members of the forum to have to read posts where clearly they either dont care about other members or just want to beat on people for the kicks

either way it is going to stop, even if that means a very quiet forum rather than a busier confrontational one

    cheers SB

Im been kind of away lately for personal reasons, but i understand what are you saying Bob.

I think the word is respect/polite

I can disagree with some one and try to make my point clear but if i do it with respect that make the difference, versus make the same thing with no care for others.

I understand some players now, and some comments donīt look offensive because i know them more like Bob comment, but when you donīt know people comments looks more agresive, example i can say a friend: you donk, ass, FY, or what ever word, but if is my friend (or buddy) he will understand that is not in the bad way. But when we donīt know people and post same words is not the same, and we surely canīt understand exactly if a word is post it because is his way of talk or because is just rude.

But i need to make clear also that if some one demand respect need to be respectfull too, i mean a topic where say this donk get lucky, etc only make people be confrontational.

I usually never use the word donk, prefeer to use the word bad player or bad play, because we all can make mistakes, but the word is used in all poker world so.

We all are different people, not only from different places, different countries, even different languages even if all speak English (English is not my first language), so we need to adapt and make things friendly.

I apology if make any comment that was out of line before, i usually try to not be rude.

I am very glad Bob made this post, because there has been a feeling around here for a little while now that if you would dare to post something that 1 or 2 others felt you had no biz posting they would attack like rapid dogs, and it isn't only me that has felt that way...i can name 3 off the top of my head that were big contributors that have been very silent as of late for these same reasons

Yup this is probably me, my post about donk gets lucky with A-K. Sorry to anyone offended by that, and I WILL choose my words carefully from now on. Peace to all.

Has something gone on that I missed. I agree though and this is my favorite forum and Im a perfect example of someone who made an ass of themselves early on and maybe later on too and lost the respect of some very good players that I feel bad about. When you know nothing, you dont think anyone does and they really do and I understand that know.

SO BASICALLY WHO EVER IS MAKING BOB MAD STOP IT - NOW - and APOLOGIZE, I know I have written apologize letters for idiotic stuff I have done

    Great post Bob.

I agree 100% ...I have seen other forums go to the wall due to arrogant offensive people who think they run the show and I don't want this one to go down the same path.

    Keep up the good work
