I would happily run additional freerolls for people who signup via our links but unfortunately then our members who are signed up at sites already dont like this but dont seem to understand why they're not entitled to play in those games ... and I dont like to have to try to explain these things to people who dont want to listen and just expect more free games etc etc

If you think that's a good idea to do, then you should. I wouldn't be eligible to play, but so what? People who signed up through 4K are entitled to some perks.

If people don't understand that, that's their problem and you should just ignore any whiney posts.

And SB has had the decency to explain his reasons and decisions (if i remember rightly he has explained all this before) so everyone should accept what he says and get on with it

IMO the intent of the OP and my posts were not bitching at sb, but more a complaint about the moron pw thieves. How can you not be outraged at 508 players, most of whom never heard of 4k, who simply got the pw from those dam theft forums.

BTW- I didn't play. But I am in the buyin today-9 signed up so far!!!

That wouldnt atract thieves I hope, and we could have something like a league with prizes for the ones with more points/cents over a period of games, if its the intention of SB to still use freerolls for the low activity or low bankroll members

how about a .01 cent buyin +$25 added

or .01 cent buyin nothing added to the prize pool,
but payout the $25 through transfer to the final table

not sure how FullTilt takes a 'list' made by affiliates but it wouldn't be hard to make a script to have people register with forum name, FT name and email.

I think its just a perception thing - I know freerolls are a nightmare and that is never going to change

so I'm not going to invest more time in them to try and make them more secure or better - it simly doesnt work

if you are passionate about the league games / forum etc just ignore the freerolls - dont let them bug you at all

the occasionally useful point of the freerolls a few times a year is that we get in the case of the last one with 500 playing ... 90ish new members

now I fully appreciate that alot of those 90 new members joined and either didnt post or some posted junk (much Ive delete) ...

however that is still 90 out of 500 who did at least join the forum after getting the password by the back door ... or more likely they are people who joined expecting it to be easy to get the freeroll password and found it wasnt

a fair portion of those 90 new members will come back and post (and many WONT have played the freeroll or got the password and wont be one of the 500 that did play)

(in fact I may just post the rare freeroll passwords in public area of the forum to save bother)

Ignoring the freerolls - the $1 leagues etc afiaks seem to work well

the $1 buyin $25 added games seem to get the 40 ish most active members without problems of non member playing

all im saying is dont fret about the freerolls - just ignore them
