only if a daily back up was done, or a back up from yesterday

at the moment there are some slight technical issues ...

We had to roll back to 30th Jan, but that's all.

Having major compatibility issues with the software and system needed
to run vB4

not sure if that means posts after that will be savable or not - at this stage sorting out the problem is obviously the priority

we have been sorting out upgrading the forum unfortunately this happened yesterday and those posts from yesterday have been lost

it was an unforseen technical error that could not have been predicted

sorry but its not viable to recover those posts as it's several days work IF it is possible

however that side of the upgrades is done and so posting from now on should be fine and the scheduled and planned changes shouldnt interfer with posting

hi all

just to let you know that we've had alot of technical issues to deal with and so a few post have been lost and are not recoverable - sorry

When upgrading to vB4, the server software had to be upgraded... then
downgraded ... then re-upgraded... then tweaked... then backed up. And
the vB software had bugs so the upgrade took much longer than it
should.

its not down to or as simple as not having daily backups - if life was that easy it would be easy

the forum is now fine to post in and while it still looks a bit rough everything else should be functioning ok now too

the format of the forum (width etc) will NOT be staying like the new version and it will be going back to our normal narrower format in a few days with additional navigation down the side similar to the main part of the site

all I can say is it was ONE day NOT a month's worth of posts

so I'm not sure anyone lost alot of posts - I appreciate its not ideal but their is no point in dwelling on it
