if I can be sure of getting enough rev on a US site that aloows transfers on then I would bring it back - but at the moment Carbon league is more cost than it earns sowe will have to see how things pan out

the next couple of months are going to be "interesting" for everyone at the very least

it also affects plans for the 4KSOP was well as FT was a solid place for the broad range of mixed games to make the 4KSOP what it is ... Carbon have more games available too but alot also depends on our non US members as I think alot of non US players are inevitably changing sites too

As I said before we will end up with a very polarised poker community of US players on 4 or 5 sites and then most non US players playing at total non US sites

    its a shame

    cheers SB
At the risk of sounding moronic is there anything we can do to try and push an integration towards more activity for European players where US players can also partake: am i right in thinking Bodog is still an option for both sides of the Atlantic? Can't we focus more on these sites and bypass the Fed-style exclusions that the US would impose on us all?

Default us facing will also take non us players

    hi

the still us facing sites will also take non us players

that isnt really so much the issue as that the sites that are now left dont generate enough to fund tournaments let alone fund posting prizes

the loss of FT rev is quite a blow - and it looks like they have just removed all the revenue from even before the 15th that may turn up so we'll see.

One thing will be for sure is it means that most of the revenue will have disapeared from there now the US players have also gone ... that was pretty much all the US based revenue I earnt gone - so it makes funding things alot harder

I dont particularly want to run non US leagues because that splits things - but I also dont see the "rush" to signup at Carbon or Bodog that everyone else seems to think is or will happen

Anyway those thoughts are for the poker blog

Carbon or Bodog are the only options for US and non US league combined - Bodog dont have the level of AM support they once had os not easy to organise games there - but also I doubt Carbon will want to part fund games again when they dont earn them (or me) any profit.

I've always subsidised all the leagues anyway from FT and other non US sites revenue - but with FT rev all but gone that is a chunk missing for my mortgage let alone leagues / prizes

On an individual player basis - you'll all get your money so dont worry (FT might take longer than Stars is my guess) but it will get released

On a business level this while thing has massive implications for everyone from the little guy like me running a site & forum, up to the magazines who will probably have to let staff go as the advertising spend in the US will go through the floor

I have a couple of weeks to figure things out

    cheers SB

DAng Bob. the last sentence of your post is kind of omnious. Youre planning on keeping your site going arent you. WOW so many implications of this stupid seizures. I read your blog, your saying they busted this Russian dude like 4 years ago and they have been building a case for 4 years against the sites. OR did the russian dude turn over on the sites just recently and the 4 years they were working on finding out other things (hope Im making sense). I mean why did it take 4 years, (I guess Im asking) when was the russian dude busted (4 years ago or recently) Im just trying to figure out what happened suddenly April 15th that they took action and not a lot earlier cause it would seem they would be able to build a case quicker than 4 years. Lay it out how it went down

    Default 4kingpoker isnt going anywhere

    hi

just to clarify - 4kingpoker isnt going anywhere

this is my job and my living (with a couple of other sites) so if I dont make the sites earn then the kids dont get shoes (well you know what I mean anyway)

it is also my passion as washer I think pointed out - so I keep trying to fund leagues and things even though it doesnt strictly make financial sense

I have a couple of weeks (actually I guess maybe a little more) to figure out what the hell to do about the 4KSOP and how to fund it etc

basically if revenue everywhere is getting thinner and some have disapeared completely then I have to pay my bills first - thats all its just a bit unknown how much everything will be affected

    on the indictment stiff

ok so to the guy who messed it up ...

the DoJ will have been trying to build a case / cases for the last few years with limited success as I understand it but they would IMHO also want to wait until the potential amounts for a settlement have got juicy

then the processor guy falls in their lap after they get a tip he is at the airport - he gets nicked and is facing life x10 or something so sings like a canary to get off the hook

ergo all the secrets on how he / they did it all and the DoJ have all the evidence they need cast iron

    hope thats a help

also just up dated the blog ...

Not So Black Friday for US Poker

I think everyone is able to understand your position Rob. Online poker is on his way to a global change and nobody can say where the next step will lead. 4K also have to follow the change.
The trouble is that we won't find much places to meet anymore at a poker table if the wind keep on blow from the same side. Carbon is the last .com i can reach from France (if not using a VPN) but i don't know how long it will last. I should probably move to UK, but i feel like i can't handle food and climate.
How will it affect the communities, in general, and 4K in particular is the big point as US members used to represent a big part of the regulars field in private games.
Until more infos, i hope to see much of us tonight at the carbon league game.

I want to apologize to all the non USA people here and around the world that have been just as affected as we have by the stupidity and greed of my government. I know i did not personally cause this yet i can't but help to feel a little responsible seeing as how the American people have let the gov get to this point instead of demanding a gov of the people by the people like it was first created. We need big changes ala a revolution in this country so things can get better imo, but enough of the politics, i will still be here and playing in the games when ever i get the chance and if Bob finds some new rooms to promote that i haven't all ready signed up for then i will for sure sign up through his link, problem being that i am a member at just about every room, lol

Yes, Dan, anything legal takes years and years, they just drag it out...lawyers and courts are famous for it everywhere...they can write loads of meaningless, waffling letters and charge a fortune and cases can be delayed for ever in a great, bureaucratic mire that more than likely outlasts the sanity or dying breath of the poor mortals at their mercy!

And Hoje, anyone who eats horse would love English food...we're famous now for our fabulous cuisine, don't you know

I just thought, we could sell Dan's body to science to whip up some extra revenue for the games, shall we poll it?

fwiw, I've heard that it's very difficult to get a 'new' priv. forum tourney happening on Bodog these days (actually what I heard was > they weren't setting any up at all)

    Default variety of games needed

    hi

yep getting games on Bodog is pretty much impossible from a forum POV

anyway for the 4KSOP we need to have a full choice of game variations - which was why FT was spot on for it

the only other site that fits the bill and is open to US is Carbon ... so that looks most likely candidate ... will just have to deposit funds there from another site to fund it though
