    Default posting prizes dropped again

    hi

I know people like the cash etc but given the current situation with US and FT etc I have no way of knowing if I can afford to fund the monthly posting prize and also wouldnt be able to pay it out to any US members anyway

I appreciate its a tough time for everyone, especially anyone in US who plays poker to earn a living, but equally its tough for me as I dont know how affected 4kingpoker will be by developments

to that end I will have to call it a day on the forum posting prizes - as I cant be sure of any revenue from FT and other US site options dont earn me enough to cover the prizes

just thought I would let you all know ;-(

    cheers scrawnybob

You are a more than generous host

Even tho' it is a business venture for you in one respect, we all know it is much more than just that and it shows: you give your time, your money and you really care about your members...

I don't think any of us will desert you for this, Bob

    Default too much uncertainty

    hi

yep there is just too much uncertainty at the moment and I appreciate its affecting everyone one way or another

if I can be sure of getting enough rev on a US site that aloows transfers on then I would bring it back - but at the moment Carbon league is more cost than it earns sowe will have to see how things pan out

the next couple of months are going to be "interesting" for everyone at the very least

it also affects plans for the 4KSOP was well as FT was a solid place for the broad range of mixed games to make the 4KSOP what it is ... Carbon have more games available too but alot also depends on our non US members as I think alot of non US players are inevitably changing sites too

As I said before we will end up with a very polarised poker community of US players on 4 or 5 sites and then most non US players playing at total non US sites

    its a shame

    cheers SB

Totally understandable, Bob. Surely are tough times for everyone.

Best wishes in the business line, hopely things get clear soon and get better for you.

Major issue i think is not know what´s next. People is afraid to load $ in other US Sites for the fear that those sites will go down next for US players wich also make problems for NON us players, so players/afilliates also need to jump from site to site to see who still will keep working with you with out a problem.

Not sure if try to look again for NON US sites to roll some games could leave you some revenue from new players link it. I think this will be the time that everyone will be open to see other sites to make their new home.

I don,t understand this comment.? Are you saying the non US players are going to play the sites where the US are not allowed ?? I do know Carbon has seen more players online than ever before the other night. Many forums games I play were being held at the big three and were 75% US players so that is going to kill or halt many forum leagues.

Default yes, possibly either short or long term

    hi

on the upside my prediction of player funds not being allowed to be part of the settlement agreements looks to be coming good quickly ...

DoJ agrees cashout of US player funds

I will cover this and other things like polarisation in the poker blog

however this announcement will go along way to minimise the US / non US player divide IMHO ... basically all the non US sites are rubbing their hands with the idea of lots of "uneasy" non US pokerstars and FT players who might be convinced into moving to their sites on the basis of them not being as safe as they could be etc

I'm not a big fan of these scare tactics - but it's something I will cover in the next post in my poker blog because alot of non US players feel unsure how safe they are and non US sites are making the most of that

but this announcement should make things alot easier for all players to be reassured at least on the short term but ultimately I fear the separate markets will polarise and one of the victims of that would be effectively global forum games

    cheers scrawnybob

No biggie, Ill keep posting here anyways, Its a shame though cause it already looks like fewer new post when I check around. I played more on cake and carbon then I did on the busted sites anyway but who knows how much longer that will be an option, Im sure getting money on those sites will be even harder than it was before

No problem with me SB. I recall when coming back after quite a long layoff that it was only for the posting prizes (but also stated that I was just kidding LOL).
Hopefully everything turns out OK for this, and other forums, with regard to scheduling private tourneys, which are the best to play in. Hope also that the U.S. players are not completely shut out of other sites, as this would drastically result in the number of participants both in the tourneys and the forums.

A mistake made in the past is not as important as the lesson learned from it.

Personally i hope Merge stays "buisness as usual" because really they were my fav Poker Skins to play on, i only played on the 4 big daddies because of private forum games so i will still be around here talking poker and talking smack, even if my Full Tilt bankroll doesn't get the occasional boost, lol
