I really hope they manage to weather the storm through all of this. Fulltilt has always been by far my favourite of all the online poker sites.. by a landslide.
Kinda crazy that they were bankrolling all those deposits that never actually went through (to the tune of an estimated $60mil),... and that soooo many US players were continuing to play (& redeposit) when their deposits weren't getting taken from their bank accounts. I actually read a few posts about this, where forum member says (usually a new member), "Hey.. I dep. on FTP & it hasn't gone through from my bank acct. yet. It was 8wks ago & it still hasn't gone through. What do you think I should do? (should I leave 'x' dollars in acct. to cover it for when it does go through? or should I just close my acct.)" Not going to go into detail about answers for that one... but did find it weird to see posts like that & wondered if there were some degens. who lost $5k deposits, didn't have them go through so they chose to re-deposit/lose, again & again.
Now hearing things brought to light.... it seems there was actually ~$60mil that went this way. I suppose to keep on running the site, in hopes of getting it processed (while making $'s hand over fist) & keeping US players going would've been okay if they'd never had to liquidate their assets.. or had something like this DoJ thing go down.
Can't imagine the accounting complications now with payouts... ie. JoeBlow has $4k in his account.. 'but' he also has $17k in deposits that never went through his bank. (or vice versa... Josephine Blow deposits $2k (which doesn't go thru) then binks a tourney for $10k). Just seems like a HUGE mess. Who would know where to start with it all? (as I heard others suggest > payout a bunch of the smaller accounts first, to take care of a larger number of customers from US, then payout a % of the bigger ones over a period of time.
I can't imagine that Fulltilt isn't still making some decent bucks in their daily operations.
Really hope things get sorted out.... I would hate to think my Fulltilt hats & t-shirts might one day become collectors items.
