It seems like we have been reduced to me,Dan Abs,PO,Scrawny, Assistance & Ravensfan. Where the hell is all the rest of the 4Kingers ? Don't tell me people aren't posting or coming around just because there is no posting money or no games currently ?

You would really hope that aint the reason, but I wonder why no is around anymore. Were all these people making a living at poker and now they are scrambling to move out of the country or what. I know the online choices may not be Pokerstars or FUCKTILT but there are still some options.

yes I am still here

at the moment I am trying to fit our kitchen and a hundred other things so the site isnt getting the time I'd like it to

however it has been a big hit on my enthusiasm to see the forum just die off so quick - whether its dropping forum posting prizes or having to reduce games I'm not so sure

I think the main problem has been since the 15th Black Monday people have just closed down - shocking really as I at least expected more members to stay active even if it was just to moan about the state of things

At the moment I am waiting on the AGCC / Full Tilt announcement by the 26th July ... Until then it sort of feels like things are in limbo for everyone

however again I'm amazed how little anyone in the forum has brought this up

from the feedback I am getting generally alot of forums have been decimated since black friday but I am planning to try an get things going again when I have a bit more time again

In the past 3-4yrs. I've played a number of priv.tourneys/leagues (it's how I first discovered 4king). My experience has been, you see the same group of players (~50%+ of them anyways) who are playing in most of them. (sure there's some tighter knit groups but there's a ton of transient members/players, seeking out the $-added games, most participating very little (or the 'min.' or not at all) in the forums.
I think some of the ones that have been successful are ones who've managed to get a decent group of members who'll sign up at a new site to play in some leagues. (obviously lots of other reasons too).

Currently Carbon poker seems to be running a fair number of priv. games (am pretty sure that alot of them aren't 'forum' games). My guess is > if 4king were to run a series on Carbon at some point, it'd likely pick up quite a few players for it (but would this help the forum?). The few 'league' games on there now, are all getting a higher number of entrants in them lately... better turnouts than in the past. 'Maybe' if a leage started up & then if 4king got some sort of sign-up promo (maybe with a freeroll?.. or min. number of player pts. needed for entrance?.. or available to new signups, etc.?) it'd attract a decent number of folks? (maybe something like Lock or Hero?.. although I'm not sure what the situation is with these two I've mentioned.. ie. do they take US signups/deposits right now?). Also, LockPoker just signed up Chris Moorman as one of their pros (this is sure to draw in more players!).. & 'Rizen' (Eric Lynch) is also a resident pro on Lock (co-author of "Winning Poker Tournaments - One Hand At A Time")

I've seen a number of priv. tournaments in their lobby (by poker forums), the software is decent/ok & the tables on there are SUPER FISHY (the fishiest micro tables I've ever seen). Recent news too > 888Poker applying for license in Nevada (something about hooking up with Harrah's ? I'll post a link & check details.. or at least details).
I know I'd play on either of these two if something started up on them (& currently don't have a Lock account)

some other stuff regarding 888Poker:
- publicly traded (London)
- 2nd quarter revenue was $79million (an increase of 29% year-over-year) (with $13million of that coming from 'poker')

Another plus about the site - it has alot of micro & low buyin MTT's with not too bad structure & a decent number of entrants (lots of 'guaranteed' prizepools). I think it would/could really cater to the types of players who seem to be most prevalent on alot of the poker forums who hold 'league games'. The competition is soft & personally I believe most of the forum members (who play MTTs or who play in the league games) would be turning a profit by playing in 888Poker MTTs (variance is also reduced as playing fields aren't HUGE... more often ~250-500 entrants).

I think its like this everywhere. I dont even get online as much as i use to because when i got on before i was always playing poker as i did other things, now i just get on and check a few things and im usually off in about 10-15 mins.

I think this happen in a lot forums, BF hurt poker a lot not only to US players but to all in general, Fulltilt shut down was like a 2nd hit wich this time hurt Non us players too, everyone who was playing there get the feel that things were getting better and bum, money freeze, site down.

This pretty much screw most of poker forums, some get closed, some keep on but still hurt.

Right now i just visit 2+2, CC and 4kp, even 2+2 and CC was hurt in active members, so really don´t think that posting prizes is the major issue for the hit, maybe a little the cut in games and lack of options where to play now for all.

Talking especifically on 4kp i think the hit as been since no much options in games, i mean we used to have 4 leagues, then that was cut to 2 leagues, and still was ok because if someone can´t/don´t want to play in one site have the option to play in the other, but then that also change to just 1 league, so if can´t play at that site or at that time then there was no other option.

Then 4kSOP was coming, so no more leagues wich mean who don´t like mixed games (or other than NLHE) was off from games, added to that games was set in Fulltilt, and they handle really bad all issues after BF, so that cut all USA 4kp members and Non Usa that not want play there anymore (my case), then Fulltilt was closed so not even that could go on wich probably send more people away from the forum.

I keep coming at least every other day to the forum but tbh i usually don´t log in and just search like guess because usually there is not much talk around.

The couple topics active are usually not poker related, and the poker threads are usually out of topic, even the "post your wins" thread that make me come to see how everyone is doing is kind of meh lately because is been used for posting hands or other random topics but not for posting results.

Last time i post think was about Fulltilt issues, nothing changed since that time.

Hopely things work better for 4kp in the future i understand that this are tough times for all so gl to everyone.

I do will be interested in read how is everyone hanging póker related, what games are everyone playing, what sites, etc.
