new look 4kingpoker - feedback

hi all

I'm looking for a bit of feedback on the slightly new look of 4kingpoker on the homepage

It's not all finished yet but I've changed the blue columns to black and moved info and links around a bit

any suggestions on how it looks ? especially any designers out there

Also I'm trying to get things a bit more newsy and I've changed the middle layout so that hopefully you can see more regular changes at the top of the homepage for returning visits as I don't think visitors / members could see when things got updated before

also the youtube stuff - which hopefully makes things a bit more interactive

Any suggestions - all wanted good & bad

It's great so far, I like the fast loading page in forum that's plus. All advertise belong to front page however small the better. I have seen other sites has horrible rows of eye candy animated adverts even in the forum page, was so painfully slow to load. I would never return to that site. I had forgot , I am on dial up, so this is PLUS . Keep up Great works.

table width="900"

tables should be set to a % to allow for screen size differences
fixed width is great, if everyone has the same screen size


Your columns (left.right)changes

not to sure where your going with that, as in focal point.
raise the red bolded font up 1 size should help guide the eyes
to what u want them to click.

also your blog is active, but the link is almost hidden

they say the average person looks the first time
at a page for 5-10 seconds before clicking something else.
you have alot of content that all of it cant possibly have been
seen in that time frame. ( the marquee takes 5 of them )

I would stick with the black/red you got going on
red on black (specially focal bolds) really stands out great

how ever the green and red / tabs and banner a causing it to
look more congested then the page really is.
