the funny thing gnk, was that he once whined about the new member (who was... well it was you) who posted up more than he did in 2 days, by that beating him with posts and going towards the jackpot. and look, its been only 2 months since it happened while you became a regular, and he was the hit & run live example..

holdem of course. the fast fifty on carbon poker to be exact. last time i was out on the first hand...

it went like this. 1000 starting chips and i get KK in mid pos.

so i raise to 105 and get called by a mid pos also... the small blind is suddenly allin and i call instantly. the mid pos caller thinks for 5 secs and calls also. he shows AQ off and the punk SB shows only A 10 off!!!

the ace comes on the flop (bye bye jacks at that stage) and the queen on the turn....

its not that i lost, but what in gods name did the SB think about?!

oh well... donkey donks...

Not a month 2 weeks, needed time to play more poker as my bankroll is increasing more rapidly that I thought and also needed some for my work ect ...

lol - well putting on my nice guy mediator hat - I think look through the stats perceptions arent quite the same as reality which is somewhere between

those that have won posting prizes - have done so within my loose rules and even though it may seem like they haven't posted since - they have - maybe not as much

but IMHO irregularly regular getting near or in the prize money is alot better than the "make 5+ posts and never post again for the passwords" issues

I would love to find a way to get all those members posting a bit more regularly and more involved more than anything - the trouble is with some we will risk ending up with another flurry of duff 5 new posts to keep getting the passwords if we change the rules

but I will be looking to have a 5+ minimum post in the last say 3 months - instead of 5+ since joining

as the forums are busier we really should have more members making some posts a month even if its only one or 2

so from my POV all the posting winners have earnt their prizes fair and square - we shouldnt knock em - we should be encouraging them

Bob, I just wanted to say again that you run a good site. However there are some flaws in the way that prizes and passwords are handled. Here's just a few suggestions:

I would make a minimum post requirement of 15 posts in order to start receiving passwords for freerolls. Once you have the 15 posts and you get the freeroll password then you have to make at least 15 posts every month to get the PW for that month. It would make people become part of the forum instead of just coming to take the password and leaving..

The buyin games are a different story IMO because if someone is willing to put their own money in then I'd say after 15 posts they can have that PW anytime.

The Forum Posting Jackpot needs to be better marketed to incoming new players. This is something that should be generating new members and a buzz here, but it's really not. The past months winners disappear and dont post again until they can win another prize and thats not right nor is it fair. Something should be done about that.

But again Bob, youre doin a great job here just wanted to give you a few opinions of mine and you can do with them what you will...........
