VIP member private games ?

I think we will have the VIP (very important posters) game towards the end of the currrent season of leagues - I know your all chomping at the bit to get this game but at the moment we have alot of extra games being offered up to us by sites and I have to be realistic about being able to schedule everything and get the info out etc

We have just had a $1000 WPC freeroll at Pacific Poker and have a $25 buy-in for WPC and WSOP tickets this Friday

Next we are going to be running a mini league at Virgin Poker

I appreciate these are closed to US players and I will try to get some US friendly sites on board with some promo games

As for the VIP game - this is one I'm looking forward to playing myself as I dont have to worry about hogging any points for the league (it was so close last time round)

I think we also need to give members a chance to establish themselves - it will be a 50+ post requirement but crucuially to be eligible members will need to have been members for 3 months+ so that we dont just get people joining and posting 50x in zero time to get in

also I wont advertise it in the normal tournament info spots on the site - just in the forum in this thread

Once we get the first one going I'll try to allocate some of my bankroll to make it maybe a monthly thing - but we'll have to hang on a couple of months for the first one

and snow...as for PW sharers the i would hope the select few that will be in this wouldn't do that...but the number of people in will be so limited that it won't be that hard to narrow it down to who did it...and mabye even since this mabye a 1 time or monthly thing we can do what some sites do and submit a list of names to the site and if ur name doesn't match you can't get in....or something like u gotta have a ticket to get in...or something like that

Yes Bob, it sounds very nice what you have in mind.

You should be ambitious on your first move, imho.
Even if the first outcome is somehow deceptive, then you can adjust according to yours and your fellow VIP players thoughts and debate.

I'm pretty sure I will not be a VIP member by the end of June, but I will someday, in a natural way. Gone are university free times, I confess I'm more of a voyeur and only occasionally share my thoughts in posts. I could change that a little I guess...

Back to your post purpose, the "competitive intelligent side" and the "pleasant & social ambiance" are indissociable. You should have that in mind when you go-go VIP league.

To make it motivational enough for your members to be present in the event, you need a nice field of players, I mean NO FreeRollers play style!
If your VIP members sees someone pushing at them, in a competitive league, they want to think it's either a good move or a misread move, not a damn stupid FR move a.k.a "oh what the hell it's only a freeroll".
About ambiance, I can see from your members feedback in each tourney and from the 1$ tourney I played you won't have big issues with that, although you, 4kingbob, should take part of this competition in a serious way, absolutely.

You biggest problem will be... conciliating US and non-US in one event!
You have the room problem (pokerstars?) and the schedule problem, except maybe on weekend.
And the number of players, to help competition maybe you'll have to invite some of your members who don't meet those requirements, but that you're sure they have the spirit.

And later a thread for VIP league registration, it works like a compromise, and we all can check who'll be participating.
