Following on from some feedback from a while ago and also looking at how the new 10+ posts rule is being handled by new members / old non posting members & old 5+ posting members
it's clear that most of my concerns over changing from the 5-10 posting rule are happening - but this was expected and I still feel some of these members will come good.
but unfortunately there will always be those that are most likely to just post dross or borderline dross also dont really read the forum rules or even the entire thread they post in - just to qualify for the passwords ... I can live with that on balance and it will get deleted out over time (keep reporting posts if you see something that really winds you up)
but Icant live with the few scuzz buckets (you know who you are) who have posted back up to 10 to get the passwords with the sole intention of giving them out / posting them etc - seriously take a check on yourself - is it really worth spoiling our games for a few cents for you and 50 of your "mates" ???
anyway as I've said before (maybe not with everyone agreeing) we have to look at all members potential rather than being too negative (report posts by all means)
anyway I'd discussed with a few of the very active members and they suggested that it would be good to have occasional more exclusive games for those in the forum who have really got to know each other - something of a personalised battle I guess
I will play (and not to dump chips aiming for 11th every game) but probably do really badly for actually trying ;-)
the feedback seemed to be that this shouldnt be based on bankroll so could / should be a freeroll so as not to exclude those really active and longer term members based on posting and contribution
I havent set anything up or got dates in mind but I definately want to do this now and again
as a thankyou to the members who are really getting into the forum and making the effort to post at length and also helping alot of our members make serious improvements on their game
so where do we set the goal posts ?
50+ posts and in the forum for 3 months ??
(obviously this will be on stricter quality basis not just 50 x 1 or 2 line posts)
off the top of my head this seems achievable for newer members to establish themselves while not being completely elitist ... any thoughts or suggestions
also on venue / host - there is the obvious tilt or stars or we could have it somewhere else but I guess needs to be US friendly ... any preferences
also freeroll or low buy-in or bigger buy-in ?
cheers scrawnybob

Hi Bob,
This sounds like a great idea. I love playing with people I have gotten to know in this forum. I usually only post if I have something real to say, so I may not qualify, but I'll give it a shot.
I think a buy-in game would be best.$1-5 would work for me.
U can arrange a freeroll for the top 10 posters !!! lol. Im definitely waiting for the next FTP series but ill play everything u can arrange for us. I think it would be great a KO tournament, or other tournaments not only NLH.

hi all. this all should be good scrawnybob, but only if you will also play it seriously, and try to win it also.
i like the fact our games are more social, more intelligent if you like and i like to play our games for thet reason. if it cant be carbon, then ftp or ps will also deffinately work for me if its a reasonable time.
its pretty, i dont know - obvious? that members with 50+ 100+ posts are participating way more than only for the passwords, so the move will be great for them wether its a freeroll or a buy-in. if you dont have the sum for the buy-in i will try to help
sounds good to me....i like it better when it is a table or 2 of people that i know from here instead of like 10 to 15 regs and 50 to 60 people that don't post much or just come bust out 10 posts real quick ......
I think it's a great idea Bob, I don't know the demographics of the membership but it has to be at a site where everyone can play so Carbon, Bodog and anywhere US players cannot play is out. FT & PS are the obvious choices which is bad for me as I just cannot seem to win on either site. Maybe AP ?? Would be nice too for 6 seat tables with mixed games? I don't mind freeroll or buyin, but with freerolls there's always the risk of passwords getting out ( which I cannot understand ).
fyi No Austrailians or players from Singapore allowed on the merge network
No Canadians allowed on Bodog. and all that fish !
Well I've seen it done like this before at other sites and anyone who is truely here for the site will post their post no matter what the count may be.Others who just come post 10 spam and just run are purely freeroll whores who won't cash anyway.Sorry for the language but it really gets to me cause those are the same donks pushing me off my hands lately cause they purely have no skill and it kills me.Just once I'd like to play in a freeroll full of solid players.
Hi bob,This sounds good to me i am new here so i know i need to make more post. I work strange hours so sometime it is hard for me to get in here but when i can i do come here. As for the site FULLTILT would be a good site to do this at. Thanks dallas12 aka Ted

Hi Bob
this sounds like a great idea. I think FullTilt would do best, as there are already league games there and it is open to everyone.
For me it can be a buy-in as the free rolls do have the disadvantage of pw sharers
As Mafalda and killermanner, I'm looking forward to the next FTP series too...
