Default FullTilt & PokerStars Buy-in League

hi all

As mentioned we are going to put on a separate Full Tilt & PokerStars buy-in league which will start at the same time as the new season of US Open and Non US Leagues (we will be putting up 2 US friendly sites to replace them in the US Open league)

The Full Tilt & PokerStars League will be a buy-in only league (not open for debate)

Ideally (and the main point) for changing is to get a time(s) and day(s) when our FullTilt and PokerStars playing members (+ any members who havent tried either yet) suitable for BOTH US fulltilt / pokerstars players AND Euro fulltilt / pokerstars players

Having them in the current US Open leaves out the Euro non US tilt and stars players + I'm sick of fighting a losing battle of the freeroll password sharers etc which seems to be worst on these two sites as they are the biggest online

so ... this question is only for members who are / would play $1 buy-ins with $50 added at Tilt and / or Stars ... if your only prepared the do freerolls at these sites ... thats fine but please DONT add moaning / why posts - feel free to post another thread for that ;-)

What day is best for everyone (US and Euro) ?

What time is best for everyone (US and Euro) ?

I'm think out loud that a weekend day might be better as this means we could go for something like 4pm / 5pm EST which would be around 9pm / 10pm GMT

If we did it on a school night then this sort of time would be too early for US and later would be no good for Euro players ... this has always been the dilema with the US Open times as US friendly sites (and the US Open) is open to all at least in theory.

In terms of days we could either squeeze a game in on a Sunday between the existing leagues or go for a clear run on a Saturday

Alternatively we could do a non Thursday week night and alternate the times between a game at 7pm EST & 3pm EST (7pm GMT)

Ideally I'm prepared to increase the funding so we have a full tilt & a pokerstars game each week (ie. 8 per month) which would be twice the number of games we've had at these sites (but just buy-ins)

or at the least have alternating hosts so 1 weekly game (total 4 per month) which would mean the same number of games but again just buy-ins

I know it seems confusing but also bear in mind that we would still be having the same number of freeroll's and buy-ins in the US Open league (just at a couple of new sites)

provisionally at Cake and possibly DoylesRoom ... but I'm also open to suggestions on this

see ... US Open League new sites thread

cheers scrawnybob

I like the idea of buy ins at both Fulltilt and Pokerstars. In my opinion the weekend times you mentioned would be good Saturday better than Sunday.

Friday would also be good as a later time for us European members wouldn't be such a problem say 10.00/11.00pm UK.

I'm all in favour of the above suggestion. I think it deserves its own standing. Most would want to play both leagues and 3 games on different sites any night is a bit much.

Sunday night is out for me as that is the most popular night for games and I couldn't cope with another one.

Saturday UK time 8pm/9pm BST would be good although if it's too early for US then 10pm latest.

Friday night I have nothing on so anytime after 8pm before 11pm would also be good.

Smile Pstars & FTP

Being from the USA. With the problems with deposits, Pstars, FTP. are good for me. (already on those sites) Not to crazy about joining another site. (On carbon poker) also. As far as the times/days weekends are better for me. I start work @ 6:30pm Mon-Fri. Pacific time.

Hi bob

this is an excellent idea and I would like to play as many of this games as possible.
I really enjoyed the "Full Tilt 6000 Members League".

Weekend would be better for me, especially Sundays in between the two leagues as proposed. Saturdays would not be so easy as I need to respect my girlfriends wishes too.

During the week, Mondays and Wednesdays are clear no goes as I have to give training in the evenings. Tuesday and Thursdays evenings are often filled up with meetings but could be a proposal when alternating with another weekday or a Sunday. Fridays and Saturdays (as mentioned above) are normally dedicated to my girlfriend and social life.

Hope to see you all soon at the tables

Hi all

Again, leagues are a must and the right move for us members to improve our competitiveness levels, in an enjoyable table of poker.

I'm a GMT-1 member. I would like to see a no later than 20h EST league, and my guess is 18h-19h EST should be the ideal time for both sides of the Atlantic (I'm in the middle lol).

West-side would sacrifice dinner
Est-side would sacrifice sleep

Alternating times like Bob said is an idea, but I can see it work only if the league point system is based in a minimal number of games and the best ones are the ones that count.
Ex.
League has 12 games
The best 6 are the ones that count towards the League standing.
I will try to extend my idea in another post (english posts do take time to a non-en member)

Week days are the most consensual imo, and why not Thursdays? I don't see a big problem in teaming both...

Friday is live poker night (oops hope no PT authority reading this eheh), saturday sometimes also live, unless if early, like 3pmEST, so I may miss a few.
Sunday it's not a bad idea, it's good for cracked Aces in regular Sunday games...

Take care all

Default complete overhaul suggestion

hi all

thanks for everyones feedback so far - keep it coming

please see this other thread & poll as I have another possibility for discussion / feeback

ie. it might be worth thinking about moving the other leagues a bit to make it all fit better ... or not ?

Next seasons leagues - Feedback needed

it's always going to be difficult to set games on nights and times that work for everyone

but I'll try to sort them out as best as possible ... it would be alot easier with alot less games - but its great that if we can keep so many games going and growing

cheers scrawnybob
