Standings and nicknames.

Hi Scrawny,
First i have to say that you do some great job.
Second point is that as you're a human being you can make some mistakes, which is the reason why i post this thread.
I noticed on Non-US League standings that my nick appears 2 times:

9. anghojediade ... 7pts
8. anghojediade ... 4pts

I'm sure you'll check it soon and don't really worry about it.

The difficult part of your job is that we all have different names depending on rooms we play at and i was wondering how do you re-cut all names. Maybe a listing of our nicknames would be easier for you to know who is who.
Some forums uses a board "rooms/nicknames" members have to fill in additional infos from the cp-user which is a great way to handle this situation.
Was just an idea to make your job easier in future.

basically even if I havent got all of them together - the points are there and do get triple checked at the end and as I go along - but some will get missed as it's completely manual (I dont trust myself with spread sheets)

will merge the duplication and also note you two screen names 01mary / 09mary / mrspolarbear ;-)

the idea of having members fill out their different screen names has been kicked around and I was keen to do this until I started looking at the % of members who dont really read notes etc on our PM's - like the non US password feature on profiles

judging by the take up on that - if I spent time etc to get the designer into do screen name panels on prfiles - it wouldnt get used / filled out by enough people to make it a useful tool - so would be a bit of a white elephant

whilst the league points side of things is manual - it works and is quicker than having to cross ref with profiles (even if enough got filled out) ... if players see their points are not merged ... they'll soon shout up either during or at the end of the season

also this is the same with the non player issue in our leagues - in the freerolls with non member issues we now have "claim your name" threads for these games so if there are iffy names I can in time report them to the sites for investigation etc
