    Lightbulb bigger tournaments

Hi im opening this new thread to ask for bigger buy-in tournaments, im sure many of the players here would like to play something bigger than the regular 1$ tournie, or maybe its just me... I used to play them a lot and they really helped me specially the FTP series we did last year, but now that i have the bankroll to play bigger tournies I would like to have some of those too. What about a 5$ HORSE on sundays that would be sick. I wont have any advantage on the HORSE games but i think it would be super fun or maybe something like a 3$ KO tournie ??? sounds great to me.

Also a couple of months ago i remember something about VIP tournaments or especial tournies for top posters i just want to know if theres something new about that.

    What do u think ???????
I want more FTP SERIES !!! PLEASE !!

    Default bigger tournaments

    hi

having $5 buy-in tournaments is something Ive looked at - at the end of the day they will probably still be $50 added games so my logic has always been with a $1 buy-in members are getting the biggest overlay ($50 added) with a $1 buy-in relative to a bigger one - also have to consider which sites will attract enough players for the games to run

the $1 buy-in games have got bigger at most of the sites we run games at which is encouraging

I'll have to be planning the sites / hosts and funding etc for the next season of games as January is only round the corner for me from a planning POV

at the moment I am going towards the idea of having the FullTilt games as all buy-ins (probably unpopular) purely because of the number of new members who just join for freerolls their and at pokerstars - although when we get the new password system this may well knock all that on the head anyway

in terms of the VIP games and HORSE games we werent getting that many (and more importantly not that many new 50+ posting members)

I think with the new credit system (ie you have to post to earn passwords) I think that will encourage more activity generally

I'll have to see how the figures all stack up for the what and where for next seasons games

We may run more signup only games for certain sites as well as the open to all league games

    cheers scrawnybob

    A weekly $5 buy-in would be a good idea....

I would love to make that buy-in.

As far as the credit system...I love it... it will be efficient in getting people more involved here.

If it was a KO tournament I would be extremely happy. $2.50 KO, $2.50 Prize Poll would be awesome.

Hey SB please tell us some of your ideas about the new year.

I would to love to hear what you are thinking as far as tournaments.

WEllllllllll.... we do have the 100k seats on saturdays. So your 5$ is in the pot the 100k tick is the added. But I peep what you're screamin. I think the sound of a big monthly tournament would be cool. Maybe like a qualifier a week to get in free then at the end of the month a big one where you can buy in for like 10-20 or you would have had to win the satellite. This would be cool and something different.

You want to have a FREE qualifier. You know what the word FREE will bring in to that kind of tourney.

Lol we've got a new system! I feel like it wouldn't attract as many flies since there is no actual cash prize. Plus, I don't know this, but it would seem more logical that we could get the poker site to ban/pull the coupon from the freeloading winners because there would be layover between the event and the qualifier. And the biggest bonus is that there are only a few qualifiers so most of the field would be buy-ins.

IDK, just a sugg. DEf a good point though about the freeflies.

*Also another "prevention method" for keeping the stealers out of the big game would be to have no ticket given at the end of the tournament. Instead we could fund the winners with the ticket close to the start of the big tournament. And if the winner was a thief then the ticket would go to the highest finished legit 4Kinger.

I want some more information/opinions on this system. Would you participate in it if there were a few free satellites a month and then one bigger tournament at the end of the month which was a big buy-in or ticket event???

I also am wondering if this is feasible. Is this even something that could be worked out with the poker sites SB?

I think I would that would be a good idea, I think...

I mean a satellite 3 a month, and then a buy-in at the end of the month!

    I like that.

The only thing is the tournament for the ticket is at bodog and my funds there are minimal though I would like to get into that game, and I spent the last $5 now at $4.86 at bdog...

I promise that is my tournament to play when I amount a stack there.

I still think a $5 KO would bring out a good crowd + weed out free rollers.

I think the basic idea of the qualifiers and the biger buy-in tourny at the end of a month is a good idea.

On the other hand, we should be carefull as well to have not to many tournaments as this could bring up the following problems
    - less player per tournament, therefore less interesting for the poker room and for 4king
    - more effort and hazzle again for scrawnybob....

Therefor I think we should now go for the new season first and plan a bit longer ahead than just from one idea to the next. But still I consider it as an interesting and good idea if feasable.

    just my 2cts
