team Leagues SEASON III discussions

This exciting season full of ups and downs is coming to a close. Next season of TPT will feature ALL buy-ins. I imagine the teams will be structured differently and I HOPE there will be more people willing to step up as team Captains. I'm not sure but I think the new season will still be 10 player teams.

If you are currently on one of ScrawnyBob's PLEASE start your own team next season. There is ABSOLUTELY no responsibilities as a team captain other than getting the team started (which many members will help you with including myself). Don't be afraid to make a new team centered around something you love (baseball, french fries, hula dancers, aggressive poker play, a movie, world of warcraft, fashion... ANYTHING). Put it out there, and you'll probablly be surprised at how many members share your intrests.



With that being said... I'd like to know who is planning to start up a new team and what will your team's theme be (if any). Old teams may also advertise if so desired.

just to update

yes we will be sticking with 10 player max teams

however we dont need to start the teams over again

I'm hoping those current team leaders are happy to lead again

I appreciate a few people may want to move teams that is what the break between league seasons is for - so thats ok but we dont need to start rebuilding them all over again

if people want to start new teams thats fine - but you dont need to

In terms of my caretaker teams - We are sorting out a way for me to handover those teams to anyone in the team that wants to lead it ... to be honest once a team is full there isnt any admin for the leader

so I would prefer it if we can keep teams as together as possible - and hopefully get some volunteers from within my caretaker teams to take them on ;-)

AHHH. It has all become clear to me. So there will be a designated date where no players can be dropped from teams and so forth. I know we have a few people who simply don't play anymore. It is not a matter of bad standing, but I know they will not play any of the games in the new season.

I'm excited about next season and yes I hope to see people take over the teams and promote more in team communication/inter-team communication.

KJ I hope you decide to stay on as a captain... maybe u could head up the "Harvey Two-Faces"???? HAHA.

I was thinking of not leading a team for the next season. It's not that it's any work for me. I just feel really compelled to be at every game. I can't ask my team to be at the games if i'm not there, ya know?

Anyway, if we are going to leave the teams intact, then yes, I will contine to be Rounders leader. Of course, I would want the option to remove some of the members. I tried very hard to make sure my people were committed to the games before they signed up and afterward a few told me they wouldn't be able to play.

So, if we have the option to replace the uninvolved members, I'll be there.

Now I am Not saying that I,show up to every game,But I will be Playing in Half of them!
Soooo..if I am the only 1 playing on my Team....I will be looking for a new one!!LOL

I guess what I was getting at for the new season

is that members CAN move teams (or set them up) if they want to

BUT they DONT HAVE to

if that makes sense - last season we completely started again on the team size etc - but that does not need to be done again

but your all free to move around as you wish - just make sure that you cancel previous team membership - so that its still ONE member ONE team ;-)

And all the changes need to be made between the last game in this season and the 1st one in the next one - ie over Christmas / New Year

I'm as yet undecided on whether to delete my unfilled NFL / country teams ?

or maybe we can get a few more leaders and people can move around

I definately want to get teams fuller - rather than having ones and twos here and there
we got alot more taking part - but I'm not sure how much we could have done that with just random unthemed team names ?

I'm so looking forward to being a Dark Knight again next season.

It is great the teams have the opportunity to make a few changes where needed and involve some other members who may not have joined a team up to now.

With no freerolls next season, I think the standard of play will improve but the number of teams may go down. It's a pity because league play, although a team event is also individual too. It's a pity there couldn't be something worked out where only 1 team member sits at a table as sometimes there's 3 & 4 from 1 team and only 1 from another, makes life tough.
