NEW Team Rules - 4 max teams + 30 scoring places starts August season

hi all

ok for my sins I am going to make a rod for my own back ...

* teams will from now onwards be 4 members max

* scoring will be top 30 places

* team scoring will remain in all leagues - but I will be changing round a few things on that front anyway

I think will lead to more healthy teams, better competition, less problems with suggested collusion

it will also make the team angle less off putting for non team members to play in the leagues generally if NOT part of a team + more encouraging to join a team

I had considered scoring all the places for each game but that really would be too much at the moment - so I will increase scoring places from top 20 to top 30 (for both individual and team leagues)

I appreciate this was a slow decision coming but if captains and members want to go ahead and make their changes etc now in preparation for the new leagues including teams these will start later in August

I think 4 member teams are a good idea. I look forward to the team play and I hope I will still have the time.
I just hope someone will want me in their team

just to add I will try to do more scores if I can

but I dont want to commit myself to it and then find instead of 34 entries we end up with 50 or somthing ;-)

with smaller teams and 10 more scoring places added since last season I think this should open the doors to more teams being competitive and EVERYONE having the opportunity to contribute to a team in a way that could make a difference

will the same sites we played at last season be the same sites for the forth coming leagues? i like to plan ahead and sometimes it takes me awhile to "arrange" my money.

yes in order to keep some consistency I try to make any site changes gradual one site every so often - not all different

for next season - leagues will definately be

PKR

Fulltilt Poker

+ possibly another site - ideally US friendly site ... this will depend on good deposit options and also people I can work with reliably ... A good Merge site is most likely IF I can sort out funding it OR I may go with another non US site if I dont think we will get new signups to cover some of the costs

also at this stage I want to add that I have found it vastly less stressful to have only games on Saturday and Sunday (ie. no mid week games) and I can get other work done with a clear break so this is how next season will be also ...

probably with an early and a later game ... especially given that having a 5pm EST Fulltilt game on Saturday or Sunday has produced consistent numbers

Looks like most teams have > 4 members? Do I simply select one with < 4 members and request to join that team or what.

Chill there is plenty of time the team games don't start again till August. The teams will get sorted over the next few weeks. Why not join in the 4KSOP games on Saturday and Sunday. Play well and get noticed and you will get in a team easy.
