I am glad I saw this thread-- wish I would have read it before the game last night.. I was the one asking questions yesterday about chip dumping and stuff... I agree that in this league there should absolutely not be any dumping, colluding, etc-- because there is money involved and it would not be fair... I am a member of that other league that DonVic is talking about , but the difference there is that there is (purposely) no money involved (that's why it is called Bragging Rights League) and I enjoy it because it puts a different twist on the game and strategy. I think a "advisement" should be sent to all teams on their Group thread, just so everyone knows..

said too roughly imo, since we do have teams on 4kingpoker - different ones, and from what i've seen so far- teamates are not exactly "gunning" at each other, from the other hand the situations are inevitable so your personal target should be- to win.

i found that messenger distracts me, therefore i turn it off for the games.

its more for girls like the poster above

Default absolutely MSN etc is banned

hi

yep just to clarify - IM messenger etc is banned in our team games

for starters all the leagues (apart from the team only Team Play Trophy) are also individual player games ... so I dont think it will be so much of an issue

but using IM is just cheating - so dont

in terms of soft play / chip dumping etc - thats banned too

as I said previously I'm not daft enough to think that some occasions your going to avoid shafting your team mates (eg. when they go all-in and others call and you have a half decent pair etc then your probably going to fold possibly just to avoid making their life harder) but that is a world of difference to habitually dumping chips or stoking pots etc or just making it pointless game using IM etc

if I end up with a load of moaning in my in box about things like that then I will be brutal so yet again just common sense shoudl make for an enjoyable and challenging team league and team angle on the other leagues too

cheers scrawnybob

If team play means protecting your teammates or "collusion" then you are not playing poker by the rules - you are simply creating a means to knock out players on other teams, which to me is unacceptable. You should play to win on your own own merits.
I joined a team because I thought I would be playing against better players - not "cheaters", to play in tournaments without hundreds(or thousands) of entries, and to enjoy the game without playing tricks.

agree, lets just play our regular game. and if

I appreciated this post at the time, I now understand it. Very elequently said donvic and I wholeheartedly support your comments.

Poker after all is an individual game and whilst I have enjoyed the team aspect applied to the league games so far, anyone that places the team over their own game is making a mistake and really only attempting to cover or hide failings and weaknesses in their own game.

Default team play...

all for one and one for all. once i has a teammate lay down kk when i reraised bb 3 times his amount from under the gun. i thought his sacrifice for my stupidity was awesome. i had qq. one thing i wonder about is how to protect myself from msn cheaters. it's a poor player that needs that kind of help--so i'm not worried about it here--but out there...it's hell sometimes

Default team play

Just like stinkee, I am so glad I came across this topic. In the begining I was a little (heck alot) confused about the team play strategy. Playing your best game should be what its about , otherwise whats the purpose or fun of it. Thanks for the input

Since the new season is about to start, I thought I would bump this thread. We have lots of new members that probably haven't seen it.

Remember, when you're at a table, in team play or not, it is collusion if you chat to someone else how to play-such as "let's just check it down". There was a little of this in a recent game I played. I felt sure the person doing it didn't realize that it was wrong. I also felt that he didn't mean to be colluding, but it's a very thin line.
