well with the growing interest in HORSE and all the other non texas hold-em variations I decided to spend a couple of hours back at my old favourite
PokerRoom & try out the other variations of poker like Stud / 5 card draw & omaha - I was even sensible enough to do this on the play money tables just to pick up the gameplay
It was actually really interesting - Omaha is ok as I think I can get the hang of that reasonably easily, 5 card draw is like the poker we used to play as kids but 7 card stud was really hard work.
I guess it would be easier in the flesh as you would be able to see the cards better and keep track of it at a slower live table - but I wouldnt say I'm going to get the hang of it anytime soon.
The real challenge was adapting to limit games having played mainly NL hold-em playing limit did feel really odd
It was fun to try something new and I'm definately going to get some more time in with these games
