    Default Domination or Damnation

I was in the Pokerstars Sit n Go with 10000 entries on Sunday and after making the cutoff for cashing (1500 entries) I managed to build up my chip stack to 21000.
At this point I saw AA and was shocked - I raised about 3x the big blind and a player behind me made a big re-raise. If I called I was pot committed so I pushed all in and he called me with KK. I thought WOW - 42000 in the pot and he was dominated - I would be in great shape to make a nice payoff if I took the hand down.
The flop comes 55x, the turn comes Q - I am 95% favorite.
Guess what - the guy hits a two outer K and knocks me out.
This shows that domination does not always work - it turns into that other word - TBSS is the saying.

A mistake made in the past is not as important as the lesson learned from it.

That's really the tough part about poker. Orrrrrrrrr one of the tough parts man. And I'm not saying this to you specifically, but that's where I feel like I've moved into a good place in my game. I have that hand and it doesn't piss me off anymore. You did all that you could. When I see my play as strong or solid then that's all I can ask of myself. It sounds cheezy but its about gettin right with yourself. Playing good solid poker and letting the cards fall. That's our game, u know? And you're exactly right about domination... its the worst when you are the victim of 5%, but I'm sure that guy felt good about his cowboys too. Gl and keep it light.

I'm with the guy above me. All you can do is play the best cards, and If you lose you lose. It stings but what can you do, there's a new tournament everyday. You played it just like you should've and that guy was supposed to call. He must've had his fingers AND his toes crossed. Remember that, people always forget about the toes, they help.

Unfortunately no - I finished 912 out of 10000, but I was in the next tier before being knocked out. Being truthful, I wasn't as PO'd as I would have been a few months ago, so I guess I am learning (that or becoming more mellow).

don't look at it like 911 people finished better than you
look at it like you finished better than 9088 people
    that's a good showing

    Hi Enno!

Those 10,000 person tourneys on Stars are very difficult to finish in the money.

You did quite well! Like the King said, you outplayed over 9,000 people!

Keep up your determination and Good Luck in future games!
