    Post Bad beat? Really...

I think that most of the members that post into the bad beat section don't always realize what's a true bad beat.
In my belief, i thought a bad beat was when you went all in with the best hand at the showing, and then you get beat with the deck. But when i read some thread about "bad beats" it usually talks about a losing hand that was already beat, even tho the player thought he had the best hand. A bad beat is not about thinking having the best hand and go all-in to see that you are drawing dead.
Am i wrong? Just wondering as i saw many post complainig about how tuff was the bad beat which seems to me that ain't ones.

As always, without any explanation about the hands, how would i complain about them.
Let's say that you were unlucky enough, but not sure that's enough to call those bad beats.
Report the hands so that we could understand why you complain about it.

I remember 2 bad beats i was involved in yesterday with AA too , but let's say that i win both hands with trips on the river.
My bad moves were rewarded and AA went to hell.

Bad beats are when you are holding the best hand preflop and get outdrawn. A lot of the time, players put themselves in a position where they allow their opponents to put a bad beat on them by not being aggressive. However, some beats are unavoidable if you are playing against loose opponents, short stacks or huge chip leaders regardless of your play.
When at the tables, play for the love of the game and show respect for your opponents.

I'm with Hoje on this one. A bad beat is when you have all your money in the pot with the superior hand but get outdrawn and lose the pot to an inferior hand after all the chips are in.

It doesn't have to be preflop.

For example, if 77 catches trips on the flop against your AA and THEN you both go all in, the trip 7s would catch a bad beat if AA catches a third ace.

That's a bad example. 7s are a 4 to 1 dog to any overpair. So to say that a dog catching trips only to lose to overtrips by the river is not a bad beat. Now, 7s beating any overpair would be a bad beat due to the odds.

We definetely don't have the same view on bad beats.
Bad beat is all about having the best hand when you put all your chips in and not about pre-flop odds.
Odds are changing all along hands and your the dog when you call a trip of 7 with a pp A's and you need to catch the river to win.
