I don't really like getting big hands early in a tournament because of things like this. At low buy ins you get a certain type of player who thinks it's clever to do this. I generally try and keep the pot small if I can then at least you can move on and get the chips back, because I'd like to bet that your little friend there didn't make the money.
Tough break Al and I think we all know your pain but you "got your money in with the best hand" you can do no more. Keep up the fight

Didn't hang around to find out but calling with hands like that I doubt it.
Poker Stars is a good site as it has lots of tournements at any time but it needs patience to get to the money. I think I'll play elsewhere for a while.

Welp, I'll take that call every time. I mean its a 2.20 game you will often find... interestingly varied play at the lowest buyins. That is a simple fact on the relative risk of losing two dollars. I wouldn't expect that poorly a call so early, but NOTHIN is out of the question in those games. lmao

Don't have much comments on that hand.
My only thought is about pot control early in a game, even with monsters, while facing loose opponents. Next time you'll double-up with that move.

This reminds me of a video I saw of Howard Lederer. He said the biggest threat to pocket aces is small cards(or something close to that). That's the reason you make a big bet to get rid of those hands. Problem is, there is always someone out there willing to risk all their chips on that type of hand. Nothing you can do. Next time I hope your Aces take it. Good luck!

I will be the first one to make "loose calls" with those low cards, mine are about always suited connecting card but wow calling an all-in preflop with that mess lol. This is proof that inbreeders play poker to.
