Pair of 2's!?
ok... I have J-10 diamonds. Flop is Q and 9 of diamonds and a 3 of hearts. I bet pot. He calls. Turn is 4 of spades. I check, he checks. River is 7 of clubs. I bet pot and he calls with pocket 2's. A pair of 2's called me all the way down. I ended up getting knocked out of tourny as the bubble boy the very next hand. Is this considered a bad beat or a bad play?

It looks like bad play calling you down with a pair of 2's but you don't say what your stack size was compared to his or the blind sizes or the pre flop betting.
Also was it a micro tournement ?
I'd be intresrted in the full details of the hand and I'm sure others would as well.

$109 buy in. 18 people in tournament. First place was $720.00. I dont remember the blinds but the 5 of us were all pretty similar in chip stacks.

Well not normally the sort of tournement you find donks in. He must have got a read on you or didn't care.
I would be very wary of calling you with a pair of 2s but I might if I felt you had an ace rag.
Your betting is hard to assess. The pot size bet on the river should have pushed him off the hand but if you look at the cards what could you have a pair, two pair or a set ? if you hit any of these on the flop why did you bet the pot. The check on the turn could either be a good hand or a drawing hand. Does this then make the river bet look like a missed draw.
Either he was damm good or just careless.
With my bankroll my biggest entry fee is $10 and then only occasionally after a decent win so I get use to strange calls.

Next time post HH and tournament lobby .
Something doesn't add up between the 109$ buyin (usually stars) and you asking yourself if this was a beat beat
Uhm no, it's actually a flip if u go allin pre...
And to answer your question it was a very bad play by you and obviously a nice call by him0 = XP + (1 - X)(-LV + WH)

My opinion his he has played RIDICULOUSLY BAD he called u on flop...to me he can only be doing this to make a move on the turn...as he never did this his call on flop is ilogical to me.....as for his call after river he CANNOT have a read on you as you could be Bluffing in your own mind and still of had him beat with anything bar a Queen.
Anyone who praises him or EVEN gives him any credit on this hand has spent far to long outside the pyramids of egypt been ridden by tourists well past there best time
oh or just this is bad play not a badbeat

He called you on the flop BECAUSE
a. u have a flush draw
b. u have an open ended str8 draw
When you checked the turn that means
you have the above ^. You should have 2nd barrel the turn.
The River was a blank! That means you missed ur flush and your straight so yea, he had to call.0 = XP + (1 - X)(-LV + WH)
