Why me ?????????????
I am seriously considering ending my online play. I have had a series of bad beats and this is just the latest example. I am now playing .10 tournaments and .01/.02 ring games. Anyway, enjoy....
I am in position 5 with QQ. The blinds are 50/100. One person calls and when it gets to me, I make (what I think) is a nice raise to 600. My chipstack was 2100 at this time. Numnutz on the button goes all-in(his stack was 2200). Of course I call. He has 6-9 off suit. Flop comes A-6-7. Turn is K. Flop is 9. He wins with two pairs. My question - how does a person call with 6-9 to a 5x pot raise???? It just seems like other players look at me and disregard my chance to win any hand. I was in a situation a few days ago where I went all-in the first 4 hands (with decent hands) in a 360 player 10 cent sng. I built my stack to over 16,000, Second place at this time was like 3800 chips. And, I got NO RESPECT at the tables I played. If I raised, idiots with 800 chips would re-raise. I ended up not even cashing in this tournament!! I had AA TWICE later during the tournament and lost both hands. My early luck ended as fast as it started.
Sorry to get on the soapbox, but.....

I take it this was on poker stars 360 10 cent.
You can't expect serious poker at this lower stake. These are lottery tournements if you win one I'd put money on the lottery that day as your luck is realy in.
Try the 25 cent 90 player sng once you get past the first couple of levels these get a bit better and by the time there down to 30 players you will find the play not bad.Team UK Winners Full Tilt Poker Team Cup III

I think in that sort of game I would have gone all in pre flop with QQ and opened the lobby and registered for the next game.
There really is no explaining this sort of play I had it today I raised 5x bb with QQ and was called by a second player it was then re-raised by a 3rd loose player that I was pretty convinced I had beat as I'd been watching him for a while. So I called the re-raise, the 2nd player called as well. The flop came down 3 9 7. I wanted them out at that point so I put in a big bet. 2nd player re-raised all in and 3rd folded. I had to call he turned over 5 9 off, the turn was a 5 and the river was another 9 and that was me stacked.
He called a raise and re-raise with 5 9 off figure that one out. Like I say no explaining it.Leicester 'till I die!
Bob must have run out of room at the top

When i see a player with such a Big Stack so early on I figure they must have got it by doing some serious DONKING and very lucky. Then if your raising players probably just think your just Bullying and don,t really give you credit for a hand. That mentality i think was probably working against you.But as already stated no-one is too worried of gambling in a 10ct tornament and especially Poker Stars players.

That's Poker...
IMHO.... When I see someone all-in the first 4 hands of a game...
I usually mark these players with a red button or something to tell me to be on the lookout... In a freeroll or small tourney, I would then tend to play big or go home when/if I was in a hand with that person. It looks like he/she would play anything, so anything could win against them.
This could be used to your advantage, but if you're not observant, it can make you lose your lucky stack pretty quickly.
With no money on the line, or just .10, people tend to play willy nilly and go on tilt very quick. So, when you are lucky enough to win the first 4 hands and have all those chips right off the bat, one strategy I use, is to just sit back and relax for awhile.
By this time other players may think they have you pegged as a Crazy All-inner and be out to get you. They want to have a big chip stack too and they figure that if you did it, they can too.. lol.
Watch the table for awhile. This is your chance to see what cards the others like to play or what types of tricks they try, see who is being patient, who goes on Tilt easily, who plays more by luck.... This is your chance to take some notes for future play. Hang on to those chips for awhile and you will may still have a good stack left when you get closer to the money and most of the Tilters are out.
Good Luck..

It's not just you. It happens to all of us - especially in the micro buy-in games. I believe someone else made a post asking for advice on playing these games at Pokerstars - my advice was DON'T.

A mistake made in the past is not as important as the lesson learned from it.

You are complaining? Anyone who goes all in the first 4 hands of a tourney and then expects respect, is kidding themselves.
Would you have done this in a $10 buyin? A $50 buyin? Just how "decent" were those hands?
At the micro limits, just forget about respect. Most of the players don't care and probably really aren't paying attention to the other players much anyway.

I'm really struggling not to say bad words.
How did he call your stupid raise? He didn't. He went allin according to what you say. 5x Pot raise? really? You had QQ and you lost. Next thing - Pokerstars is rigged because you lost 10c to that SUPERACCOUNT.
Maybe you should try to read a book. Grow up. play a couple hands. And stop making stupid posts and waste our time.
P.S. Please don't end you online career.0 = XP + (1 - X)(-LV + WH)

Miracles do happen
Great replies, except for that last one. OK - so I said he "raised" instead of going "all-in"...Geez. I think YOU need to keep playing too.
Ok - on to my news. Started playing .01/.02 omaha ring games and made 6.00 in about an hour. I then got into a 1.10 90-player SNG (PS) and took first place. This happened during the election last night as I was fixated on the great Scott Brown win. I just waited on premium or semi-premium hands and pounced. Luck was with me and my patience paid off. Hey, it's only 24.00 for 1st, but now I have some breathing room.
Wait a minute - KINGMOHAN - I took your money....is that why you are upset??LMAO

good to see king ur not wasting our time like in your words michael was. oh no it wasnt u pointed out that he stated opponont called when infact he reraised.(which in my opinion was alot worse than a call)
Michael...as per previous this is a 10c game u cant expect much logic to come into play during this. If this was not a 10c game there would be no excuse for reraising a clearly strong hand but u really like to land up in this spot but obviously you dont want to lose.
PS 250 POT X 5 = 1250 (petit wars cont)
