I am with Hajje on this one. yeah, I consider the 99 to 44 a bad beat. I mean it is probably favored 72% to 28% which is better than the cointoss when you have AK facing
1010 which is probably 42% to 58%. If neither of the opponents card is an over card, then that just saves tons of stress. But when only 8% of the cards out there can beat you then it is a badbeat. the 9's have only a 1/13 th chance of losing normally, unless 4 of one suit comes up or four close cards to help make the 4 useful in a straight pop up.
And King, congrats on your royal flush. some poker sites are starting to give 100 bb bonus when you get a royal flush using two cards in your hand.

I too think losing to a 1 outer or 2 outer is a Bad Beat like the 99 vs 44 hand for example. But agree with the majority of responses here. I too have gotten to the point where i just go " oh well ". Bad Beats happen all the time and i no longer dwell on them or have any interest in Posting them .

To all those who consider losing to 44 when pushing with 99 as a bad beat, you are missing one important point.
When you push with 99, YOU DON"T KNOW if the other player has 44 - he may have TT - AA when he calls, which means you would be behind. This is why I say only AA pre-flop being cracked MAY be considered a bad beat.
At my local casino, a bad beat is a full house Aces over Tens (minimum) beaten by quads or better, and both whole cards have to be used by each player. We have one or more bad beat pools (each capped at $20,000 where the loser gets 50%, the winner gets 25%, and all the other players in the hand share the remaining 25%. Never won one but did deal one years ago. Maybe this is why I don't consider all other losing hands as a bad beat.
A mistake made in the past is not as important as the lesson learned from it.
