quad 2's loose

Well yesterday i think I took the worst beat I ever had. I'm playing over at poker.com(my favorite site) on a 2/4 limit table. It's 4 handed and I get pocket 2's on the big blind, going into the flop there's 3 of us, the flop comes 2 2 10. I'm over here estactic, now just trying to figure out how I can get the most money out of the hand. 1st to act bets 2, I of course just call, the 3rd guy raises to 4, and the small blind reraises upto 6 so I decide to cap it at the 8. It goes around and were all 3 to the turn. Turn comes an A, I'm now thinking this is a perfect card especially if one of them is holding A 10, again the betting and raising begins, eventually the non blind guy gets out. I'm now thinking this is perfect because at poker.com when it comes to heads up games on limit tables there is no cap. So we end up betting it up prretty high till he finally stops raising me adn just calls. The pot is now around $150, adn here comes the river another whopping A. And just to finish the story quick he of course was holding pocket A's. My flopped quad 2's just got beat by runner runner AA. nomad956

I think you played the hand well IMHO

you correctly saw that the ace coming down would infact help the other player - which was what you actually wanted to try and extract the most from the hand

good play by you seeing that if they were able to make a FH then you would indeed get paid off hansomely for your quads which were well hidden - they would put you on a 2 which would have you both with a FH but them thinking they had the nuts

damn unlucky them hitting the only out they had

but from their point of view they had a hand they would have gone all the way with before the 4th Ace

That isnt going to happen too often - be glad you played the hand very well and move on
