Default Why me Pokerstars WHYYYY!!!!!! (waaaah)

I haven’t been posting much lately so I thought I’d take a few minutes to share my day with you and let you know I’m still alive.
Today was an excellent opportunity (or so I thought) to build on my BR. Had the day off due to tornadoes so instead of wasting it I got to play with my Euro buddies and here’s how it went
Sorry for not saving the hand histories I’ll do my best to explain the hands. All .05/10 PL FR Omaha $10 buy in

1: Flop 10 J Q First to act bets pot, I flop bottom set call
Turn 10 (sweeeeet!) I throw out small bet trying to represent a steal and praying the other guy has an over boat. My prayers are answered, he raises pot, I push he calls.
River Q Quads over quads, goodbye $10

2: Semi-Poker maniac raising and min betting everything raises pre flop, I have AA re-raise pot 3 players to the flop
Flop 3 6 8 rainbow villain bets 1/3 of the pot, I re-raise pot, other guy folds villain calls
Turn 5 Villain bets 1/3 again, and I’m scared. I’m thinking KK but there’s been a lot of raise with junk and hit going on so I just call.
River King Villain bets, I call (stupidly) pretty sure I’m beat but you know what? I was right dummy had KK made a 4 outer, he who bets first wins specialist. Goodbye 2nd $10
3: I raise pre flop and hit top set against a possible Fl draw. I bet, he min raises, I push, he calls next card, he hits, goodbye 3rd $10

4: 2 hands later with the same guy.
Flop is K J 7 Top set again!!! I can hardly believe my good fortune. I decide to play a little differently because I’m crafty like that. I check, villain bets pot, 1 guy calls I raise pot, villain calls so I’m pretty sure it’s trip and FL draw again.
Turn A I push, he insta-calls, the reason for that is that he bet out and called a pot sized raise on an open ender, not a Fl draw like I thought. Hell, I could of settled for a wrap but an open ender, outstanding play young man! (idiot)
River no good for me. Goodbye another $10

What a day, the next time we have bad weather I’m working for sure.

Now before it’s pointed out that hands 3 and 4 were not really bad beats (ahem! King) I know, I know I threw them in for a little extra seasoning, that first 1 was sick sick sick but the 2nd hand just plain p!$$ed me off. I’m sick of seeing hands play out like that and it happens way too often on the cash tables.

Reason for posting this atrocity of a thread. I thought it would be a good advertisement for BR management. Days like this happen from time to time, and by that I mean that Pokerstars likes to help out it’s more challenged players by letting them win sometimes (Bless their little cotton covered hooves). I’m just glad I hadn’t moved up in stakes yet.

By the way, any Pokerstars players got the new baseball cap yet? Looks a bit iffy in the pic on the site, maybe I’d be better of with a beret!
My fave item? Black Beanie 500FPP's looks goofy so it matches the rest of me!

    Cool Story Bro.
lol now seriously where were you when I played plo10? I had 7nits and a loose reg at the table. I really needed an ATM who stacks off with AA on 3568 board
And in hand 3 I'm pretty sure he had a open ender too!!
let me know when you play next time!

    A+ thread

Played a gut feeling on the AA and I was right, sometimes you have to pay them off to see what they're up to, then you can start raising back with nada and stealing. I had no business in the hand but I was way ahead and he was betting so weak.
The guy was a classic example of the "if you bet it, it will come donk". It didn't matter what I did I couldn't get him off his hand. He had faith in his 4 outer hitting on the river and was rewarded for dumb play.
This style of play (he who bets first wins) is becoming the norm on the Omaha tables, so much min betting and min raising it's starting to look like FL.
3rd hand was just a FL draw King, c'mon give me a little credit for being able to read the cards.
I had 7nits and a loose reg at the table
What stakes was this King? I see more nits on the 100-250BB but 40-100 and 20-50 are always pretty loose. Maybe it's the time of day, only been able to play U.S. evenings due to work. Anyhoo, I'll come looking for you on the Omaha tables, just remember I'm the guy that doesn't know how to play.

I played some 3k hands at PLO10. But there were very little tables at full ring like 3-4 all the time and only one 250bb. And everyday I was playing against the same people. I exaggerated a little with the 7nits; but there were at least 4. I mean round table fold in omaha?? Never seen that before lol. And I was never good with the K high flush lol. They always had the nut one. About that 3rd hand you are talking about, I attached an image that I think is from that hand. You raised pre,hit top set, cbet flop, he raised, you shoved he called with the nut draw AND also the 43 for the str8 draw! And he hit the flush on the turn. Amirite or not

Well I'll go to the foot of our stairs. You are right, I didn't see the 34. I stand corrected. In future please give me no credit for being able to read the cards
Opponent is one of those regs that never loses and usually pushes with weaker than that. Anyhow, almost got it all back (fingers crossed)
I'd better be more careful in future if you're going to bring out the damning evidence
I thought it made for a nice story anyway and I apologize to the entire forum for being a big liar.

On a separate note, I went to PTR yesterday to look at the pretty numbers and most everything is hidden. All I get is register to see stats but when I try to do that it won't work. Anybody else having that problem?

They updated PTR with some new Premium thing.

I haven't paid them any money, and I haven't really noticed any difference in my ability to look at my own hand history in any event.

So no.. not sure what's causing you problems bro.

Hi Elbarad, you've been quiet lately, nice to see you're still active, hope things are going well on the Hold 'em tables.
I sort of figured PTR were going to the pay service thing, just glad I didn't get hooked on all the free one's before they said "now you gotta pay"
Shame really though I'll miss my stats, tried to register before but it would never let me. Found out that some IP's are blocked automatically, maybe that's it or it could be the antique comp I'm using with the hamster powered modem and Windows 64, who knows!

Bad day for Omaha again 2 tables all day, made me play SNG's (Omaha H/L) and I've discovered I'm not good at them, or tournies anymore. I used to consider myself quite profitable on the SNG's but I'm finding I don't have the patience anymore. I'm thinking that 18 months of pretty much just FR Cash may have made me bad at everything else.
4 FR Omaha tables tonight though but too much min betting.
The format seems to be if you have nothing min bet, 20-40% draw bet 2xmin, nuts bet pot. When you have 2-3 players doing this then I get too frustrated to play. Tired of calling the min bet and being raised the pot behind me.

I've been trying to find literature/threads/anything explaining the min bet (with no success). I know that if you min bet in a live game you're just going to get laughed at, however saying that I remember watching (Poker After Dark) Hellmuth min bet the river (I think 600 into a 6k pot) and taking it down against Doyle Brunson. The funniest thing was the expression on Doyle's face

I'm doing more reading then talking is all. When someone...Dan... has a question I'm happy to read what some more experienced guys have to say, but don't think I should be giving out any advice that's for damned sure.

I probably check these boards 4 of 5 times a day I'd guess.

But things are on an uptick at the moment. Thanks for asking. Played 4 months of No Limit cash games and didn't manage to lose my BR, even made a little. Back to Limit Hold Em now though.

I've been on a horrendous downswing the past couple/few weeks. My Pokerstars account has almost been dormant for a year and figured I'd play some of the SCOOP events & a handful of $10 mtt's & some $4 -180's, etc. Well... I was sitting in great shape while 4-tabling on there & then went out ~10 off the bubble in all of them, getting it in wayyyyy ahead in each.. ie. JJ < KJo, KK < 55, TT < QTo (< yah.. not so bad right?.. well when you consider it was a BvB shove & I shoved with 17bb's and with them sitting on ~25bb's he snaps me off with QTo... yah.. it was pretty bad (it was his 3rd game on the site... sigh.. QTo?). Then there was the super donkey (on bubble again) who raises 4x in CO, I shove 12bb's with JJ, BB ships 11bb's with 99... and CO snaps with 5-5 (55??? Really?.. why?... I actually asked them why afterwards (cuz I wanted some help understanding the 'thinking' behing that.. if there even was any.. their answer, "I had some chips & figured I could afford it" ... w-w-w--what?... you can afford to get in a good chunk of your stack, 3rd to be allin, just off bubble with 55... (12% chance of winning the hand).... is that how one wants to get their chips in?

Yah.. poker can really suck at times. You can do a TON of work on your game (including mental/emotional), play optimally... get it in real good at oppurtune times & then taking one donking after another, after another.... & another.... and so on.. argh!
I was actually a bit choked about it today... I mean come on. I see some donktard goin' on a deep run & playing like kack... but can't get anywhere lately. I know it will change though (with enough volume)... BUT I wanted it to change TODAY! (errr... 'yesterday')
