Default Played Hand I didnt want to but is this a Bad Beat

This morning has been cold on the felt, AA loses QKs loses but I entered a hand I didnt even want to play. So I just let everyone dictate the betting since the flop was tasty. The turn made my hand so I got all my chips in (which Im not sure was correct but I figured only an ACE would beat my flush but instead it was a 4 that took me down) I didnt push at all during the flop cause I only had 20 chips invested and at the turn I made it clear I had a flush all in so did I do this right or was this guy just so sure he would make a boat on the river

I mean the dude didnt have a flush going and granted both of these hands seem to be a chasing situation but with a flush made vs 2 pair on the turn. I know it was a free roll and I know I should of never even touched the hand I was dealt but Im trying to turn my game around somewhat, and if I can see a flop cheap I now take a look. I mean would ya'll call me on this bet when you only had 40 chips invested and I guess the pot was around 250 chips (maybe)

I guess I just want to know if I played this right or wrong. I had horrible suited pockets so I didnt push because I really didnt have faith in the hand, but for 10 chips I wanted to see a flop. With a flush opportunity of the flop I said Id invest 20 more chips to see a turn, I guess I should of been more pushy on the flop but I didnt have faith in my hand and DIDNT WANT TO BE BUSTED OUT ON IT and thats exactly what happened. Would a 200 chip push on the flop have made this dude fold. I would not have pushed all my chips on this flop though but I guess with the final outcome it wouldnt of made any difference if the guy stayed in with me. I wasnt trying to be timid on but I wanted to make sure I had something worth betting on. Looking back, not pulling the trigger on the flop was probably the problem but I was beat on the flop so this guy would of called me.

SO WHY DID THIS GUY SLOW PLAY mE on the flop, he had 2 pair and had to know I wasnt betting like I had a set or anything. BUt he had to know on the turn I was made. The more I think, the quicker Im busted

First of all this is a freeroll you cannot apply logic to these more so as it's still early on.

Your betting pattern here is what's got you into trouble. A decent bet on the flop about half the pot would have given you more information. A call tells you someone hit at least a pair or a similar flush draw. A raise would also indicate a flush or a set or 2 pair.

You could have folded to a raise.

As it is your allin looks like a bluff and not you've hit your draw. Had you made a decent bet on the flop your all in might have got more respect, but in a freeroll with 2 pair most will take a gamble.

You were unlucky he hit a boat but if you want to win free rolls you either gamble with any 2 cards early on and hope to get lucky or you play tight and let all the donks knock each other out.

I think you should rename your thread to " I bet 1350 into a pot of 180. Is this a bad BET? "
And then I will answer Yes Dan, this a very very bad bet. You had the nuts and this Over bet will not get you any value (in a normal game, not a retarded freeroll).

Also, I don't agree with betting the flop, Alnoble. He's first to act in a 5 way pot with K high and only a 2nd nut flush draw. A check here will give you just as much information as a bet would, and you are not inflating the pot w/out a made hand.

Also Dan, if you didn't want to play this hand why did you call pre flop? It was 10 more chips right? Well this is were you should fold a marginal hand like K5 out of position so you don't get in situations like this.
    Hope this made sense.

the idea is to play the best and be in the best possible situations....u cannot control the cards what are coming (i know this is obvious but ur question baffles me). so when u get outdrawn its simply tough sh*t

    couple of questions

1 - y on earth would u not want to be allin flush against 2 pair with river to come???
2 - y on earth would a player not call ur allin on the flop, when he called after the turn baring in mind the turn was awful for him adding st8, flush and a better 2 pair possibility. (in regards to u commenting on betting the flop)

this is poker u can play well get ur chips in with the best and lose.....that does not mean that after the hand u look and see how u could of avoided this happening......even if u slow down he will hit is fullhouse and probably put u allin anyway.

to be honest this is just a badbeat u are asking ur question bcos u lost the hand u must of been happy with the situation u put urself in....so to me the question u r asking is how can i avoid getting outdrawn.......answer - u cant

as for advice on the hand NOT in relation to been outdrawn.....if this was not a freeroll and was a higher level pushing allin with flush is crazy this is not in relation to this hand but when u have a strong hand u do not want to kill the pot....if some1 hit 2 pair or set they would of bet anyway so u could of raised with more in the pot....and i would chance some1 hitting another heart on the river to outflush me with the ace

In the freerolls, many players could careless what their 2 hole cards are. i hate all the all ins first hands of a freeroll, just wait it out a while til the blinds go up and pick and chose your spots. gotta be very careful when playing in freerolls.
