Ok, yet another big stack bad beat. This one at a $33 $7.5kGTD tourney.
I'm sitting slightly out of position with aces, so I raise 4x BB, person immediately next to me re-raises, and button shoves (he was short). The Big stack small blind flat calls a 1100 chip bet (he had 9,800ish in chips). Not wanting any limpers in this pot, i re-raise all in (4,600 chips), the person next to me calls the all in and the small blind calls also for half of his chip stack. Four way all in is not a place i typically like to be in, but with the odds in my favor was best I could have hoped for.
I turn the aces, next player turns Jacks, button turns 3's and small blind (big stack) turns 8d9d. ?!?!?!
Flop throws AJ10, turn 3, river 7
Never have I seen so much action in one hand, three players hitting the set and the big stack who made the idiotic half stack call with suited connectors hitting his straight. Why do I even bother?!?! There was nothing wrong with my play, if I had just flat called as oppose to shoving it would have had the same result.
Variance? My arse lol!more and more i'm believing that big stacks win far more often with garbage than they should
