This one hurt I had been very tight all game played only 13 hands out of 111 and had only got it in twice once with aces and once AK then this happens...
Not meaning to flame you here at all.. but honestly you don't have the implied odds to set mine here with stacks of this size (at this stage of the game). You're only 20bb's deep and when calling the raise you have ~6to1 stack to size of bet.... you need at least 10to1 on effective stacks to consider flatting here in hopes of set-mining. Honestly I think just shipping it in with the 66 on 20bb's would be better (that or fold).
if you want, I could go into greater detail on this ^ if you're interested. (note... Top MTT players are usually looking for 15to1 as opposed to 10to1.. but if you're up against a really weak/bad player it can be profitable to set-mine getting 10to1 if you think it's likely you'll stack them off the majority of the time when you do hit your set)...another note.. I tend to try to build big pots when I hit big hands. I mean if I were checked to on a paired board with some hands I'd be leading out here anyways.. although probably not with something like AK or AQ as I'm likely still ahead & don't want to get check-raised off the best hand. "IF" I were the initial raiser & I hit this flop.. I'm c-betting it 100% of the time... because villain will expect me to do so!! I want to build the pot so that (with these stack sizes) I can hope to get it in on the turn.
Hope that ^ all makes some sense to ya...if not like I said, I'd be glad to go into greater detail.
thanks for posting the hand... as it's got some key stuff that is great for commenting on (ie. "when to set mine".. "what odds do we need to set mine")
