Here's a badbeat for ya.....
As some of you know, I'm still a bit of a priv. tourney junkie & participate in a few online leagues.

I've been playing a German League on Titan for awhile now, Spring League I made it out to a handful of their games (2 or 3/mth.), & didn't even realize there was a leaderboad with extra prizes until there was just one game left in the schedule. The good news was, I was sitting in the #1 spot, prizes were only available to 1st place overall. (1st was 180euros.. whatever that is? lol)
I ended up bubbling the final tournament (on a badbeat, lol) but still picked up some pts. & figured to be in good shape vs. the one other player in contention. Final pts. tabulated & I ended up being tied for 1st. Because they'd never had a tie for 1st place before, they decided to bring in a 'new' rule > whoever had the most 1st place finishes in the season would be the overall winner & the other guy gets Nothing. (other guy had 2x 1st, I only had 1x 1st.. he wins.. I get nothing, lol).
Bummer news for sure. Oh well, because I had placed in top3 (at least once), in an 9- touranment schedule, I was eligible to play in a special $300freeroll. There were 20 qualifiers & Top3 got paid (still decent extra potential prize). So I mark it on my calendar (couple weeks away) & then on game day I'm ready to add it to my schedule of tourneys only to discover it needs a minimum of 30entrants to play..... even though only 20players qualified (out of a potential maximum of 27, a few of us had placed in Top3 more than once). So the tournament was cancelled??!?!?!?! What a farse!
I get an email from Titan this week (this even was actually last month) telling me that the tournament is going to be run over again & that I qualify for it. I go to sign up for it & there's over 80entrants in it already? They made it open to everyone, so basically no special prize for placing in Top3 or for winning the series once again, lol.

Ya know I beat someone with TT yesterday and then a few games later a guy beat my AA with TT and then the same game the same guy beat my A9 with his KT by hitting the T, so then I think of the blake edwards movie 10 and think maybe its all related in a cosmic sense

So I played the 'final' & it ended up having ~90 entrants in it.
Sitting with a good stack (4,377) blinds 40/80 (~55bb's).
I get involved in a hand with a aggrodonk who's in BB. Knowing he'll defend BB with a wide range I choose to raise it 4x w QQ in MP... BB calls.

Flop > KsQs2s

Villain (BB) 'checks'
HERO bets 570 (I lead out with a big c-bet, ~85%pot, wanting to play it fast on a monotone board)

Villain > check-raise 'ALLIN'... a HUGE overbet!!

I snapcall. Villain shows KcQd for Top2pr. (no spades).

Turn > Kd

Villain hits 2-outer & it holds... 'gg'


I thought it was kinda suiting to go out this way - - a good badbeat to a badbeat story. sigh

Wow that's pretty unlucky there. I would of been on life tilt if the other guy qualified instead of me over one 1st place finish. Maybe next time you'll get the special prize
