    Default A BWIN Beat

This is not really a bad beat but I think this is probably the best place for this post.
After making my first deposit at BWIN, decided to enter a $2 freezeout tournament, which only had 30 entries. My very first hand, I was in the big blind with KJo, and with three limpers before me I decided just to call. The flop came QT9 rainbow giving me the nut straight. A player first to act made a decent size bet, and with two other callers, I decided to just call also. The turn was a 2 with no draws on the board - I thought great, so when he bet again with a larger bet (the other two folded), I said to myself wait for the river and then pounce. The river was a 2 also and he went all-in. Seeing as I was pot committed I called and BINGO - he showed a full house with a pocket pair QQ. IMO, even if I would have raised or gone all-in on the flop or turn, he would not have folded, so I would lose anyway.

What does this mean - first deposit, first hand, first all-in, first loss.

Maybe I should withdraw my remaining funds and be the first to make a deposit and make a withdrawal after one hand - LOL. (Haven't checked yet to see if this is even possible).

A mistake made in the past is not as important as the lesson learned from it.

    Pretty unlucky for sure!
Nothing wrong with check-raising turn to get the money in imo (sure he still calls... but we're getting the money in while we're ahead... 'also', could be alot of cards that come on the river that will shut our action down (ie. 4cd. strt.)). check-raise on turn does look 'extremely' strong though. Weird that villain only limps in w QQ in first level too.

Pretty crappy way to start off on a new site. (hopefully not foreshadowing of things to come). I've often felt that some 'new' players got the 'new software edition' on pokersites.... at least it's seemed that way at times.

Not to derail ya here but... my first tournament on a couple of sites:

PartyPoker, played a small field tourney, placed 3rd & doubled my bankroll.

FulltiltPoker, took me 10hrs. to get a deposit thru (in '07), played the first cheap game that was next in the lobby (the $1 Ferguson at 10:30pm my time) & took 2nd for $114.00

CakePoker - won a freeroll & picked up $45.00 (ok it was my 2nd game... I lost the first one).

888Poker - depositor priv. freeroll (but didn't even actually have to deposit to qualify to play in it... so I didn't deposit)... took 3rd for $160.00!!!

Wish I could say things continued like this after the 'first' game.. but not the case, lol. Kinda wished I'd played the SunMillion or $750Kguar. for my first tourneys, lol.

How is Bwin anyways enno? (aside from the first tourney that is... argh) That's on the same software as Betfair isn't it? (been trying to get a deposit on there the past couple days).

    Hey Deep

Signed up on BWIN a few months ago cause it a site that has a download version for the MAC, but never made a deposit until yesterday - did play in a few promotional tourneys there but didn't get anywhere which is why.

It is on the same network (Ongame) as Betfair, Red Kings, Hollywood, and maybe more, so all sites share the same games - similar to Carbon, Aced, Lock.

That is the only game I have played in since my deposit - still don't know if I'll ever play there again, but probably will because I'm a sucker for punishment LOL.

    tks enno.

I just checked out '32Red' today. Was browsing internet, came across a $100 free promo SNG freeroll & they were waiting for 3 more signups to start the game. (some had been waiting 4hrs. for game to start). I signed up (no deposit) & the game started up 3mins. later (I was 9th to reg. for the game).
I ended up taking it down > 1st place... & another baby bankroll to work on, lol

sorry for the sick 'derail' bragpost. But just seemed odd to me... again the 'first' game I play on a site & I win! lol. Now I'll probably play good & lose the next 20 games (or maybe they hit me up on the 5th game, lol).
    32Red?...what next?

... sent u a pm about tourneys on Bwin.
