Default When to lay down AA?

Well, my bad beat streak just got worse.

Late in a 45 man sng, blinds where 2000/4000

I get dealt 88.

Flop comes 8 3 J - rainbow, no one could hit a flush after this.

One bets 2000, I re-raise him all in with 2 calls.

One has AA, the other one has 33.

woooo I think

Turn then comes J

and u bet it, river comes out A

I mean, that late in a sng, u dont call that big of a raise after flop with AA do ya? Seems very risky to me, atleast when he didnt hit anything on the flop.

He even shouted F**K in capitals when he saw what we had.

Talk about comeback lol

Not long time ago I folded pocket aces in preflop.
Explanation: in this moment I was 9-th in the tournament with 8 prizes.

I wouldn't fold AA when I was 9th in a tourney with 8 places paid. Seems to me u got knocked out on a big pot maybe?

But, I wouldn't push all in with AA after the flop if someone bet hard after flop. Like my beat above shows

It's stupid and risky.

That is if your short stacked and it's late, I might consider it in case i had em beat on pair.

But in my book, that was a really moronic call by him, luckily he paired up his aces and got the FH over the the 2 of us with trips on flop.

I forgot to write that folding those AA was very good for me. There was one player which was few seconds to be eliminated from the tournament because of the blinds - which were very high in this moment. And I finished with 7-th prize in the tourney.
Pocket aces lose so many times online because of variuose traps which almost never happen in real. So I prefer lay down pocket aces and take the prize then play them and finish without the money.

Ahh, but don't you think if you had played the hand and won, you would have gone out with more than 7th place?

I was in your situation last night in the 1.5K guaranteed on poker.com. Short stacked before final table. Was 15th out of 16. AA - bang doubles. next hand 1010 - doubles again, now I'm 3rd.

Turns out I ended up 4th and won 156$. Much better than 15th or 10th placing for 30$.

Also, poker is a risk game, can't win big if you don't got the cojones to play big right

If you were 9th and there were 8 prizes, you are dealt pocket rockets, you should've pushed all in. Your odds were very good and instead of maybe finishing 7th or 8th you could end up finishing in the top 3.

Very true. Never fold aces you could have at least stolen the blinds.

I go all in pre flop and if someone calls then I have to leave it to the poker gods.
